The Technician works under close supervision, performing the essential functions at an adequate level.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nObserve and follow Ormat’s environmental and operational rules, procedures and guidelines\nStrictly adhere to and enforce safety procedures as required by ORMAT, CAPP, and OSHA\nResponsible for welding and fabrication of pipe spools, flanges, fittings and structural items\nTroubleshoot, repair and maintain mechanical equipment as required to support plant operations\nPerform routine and preventative maintenance tasks\nProvide recommendations for improvements\nMust be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner, enter and exit vehicle without assistance, remain alert while driving for continuous period of time and read and understand maps\nMust be able to operate a forklift, crane, rig loads and/or a backhoe\nMust be able to work weekends and holidays when necessary\nMust be able to work overtime as required\nMust be able to travel extensively to other locations, including rural areas to work on other projects\nOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:\nPerform environmental and general housekeeping duties\nAttend Monthly Safety and Maintenance training\nAbility to respond to emergency calls\nProvide coaching and guidance to junior Mechanical Maintenance Technicians.\nProcess work orders, assist in inventory, and requisitioning of parts and supplies\nSearch for and eliminate organizational weaknesses and jobsite conditions that create conditions for error.\nPeriodically observe fellow maintenance technicians while performing work activities to ensure proper procedures, techniques, and safety guidelines are being followed.\nParticipate in regular training to improve performance, acquire professional licenses, and maintain certification required by Ormat and government regulations.\nPerform other duties as directed\nEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:\nThe ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the areas of assignment as would be acquired in three to four years of high school\nOne (1) year of experience in the mechanical maintenance or other relevant field\nHands-on experience in operations, maintenance and project implementation related to power production, turbine-generators, and auxiliary equipment.\nThe ability to read technical documentation such as piping and instrumentation diagrams, one-line diagrams, and design and analysis reports.\nAbility to methodically troubleshoot mechanical equipment and systems.\nMust have the ability to read, write and speak English at a level that will permit the employee to understand and communicate information in a manner that will enable the employee to safely and efficiently perform the job duties\nMust be able to use and acquire knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spread sheets, database and presentation.
