Maintenance Assistant

Schedule Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm (Weekends as needed)Job SummarySuperior is seeking a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Assistant to support facility and property maintenance across multiple locations. This role has a strong carpentry and light construction focus and is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and learning new skills.The Maintenance Assistant will help with building repairs, renovations, grounds work, and general upkeep. This position involves both indoor and outdoor work, including in colder weather conditions. We are looking for someone motivated, reliable, and interested in growing their skills in maintenance and construction.ResponsibilitiesAssist with general building maintenance and repairsPerform carpentry work, including framing, sheetrock installation, taping, patching, and basic finish workHandle drywall repairs, painting, and minor renovationsComplete basic plumbing and fixture tasksAssemble and install equipment, fixtures, and furnishings as neededSupport groundskeeping and outdoor property maintenanceOperate construction and maintenance equipment (training provided if needed)Inspect facilities and equipment to identify repair needsAssist with janitorial and general upkeep when necessaryTravel to local company locations throughout Connecticut (company vehicle provided)Assist with Snow Removal when needed Perform other duties as assigned to support the maintenance teamQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED preferredCarpentry experience strongly preferred (framing, drywall, measuring, general construction skills)Basic knowledge of building repairs and maintenanceAbility to safely use hand tools and power toolsExperience operating or willingness to learn to operate lifts, loaders, and other equipmentComfortable working both indoors and outdoorsPhysically able to:Stand and walk for extended periodsLift, carry, and move materials up to 75 lbsClimb ladders and work at heights when neededAbility to follow instructions and work independently when requiredSelf-motivated with a strong work ethicHaving your own basic hand tools is a plus, but not requiredAbout Superior Products Distributors, Inc.Superior Products Distributors, Inc. has been Southern New England’s largest independent, family-owned supplier of construction products and services since 1967.
