Job Description
Day-in-the-LifeYou roll down your welding hood, scan a set of shop drawings, and mark your layout. You align and fit structural steel components, tack them in place, and run clean, consistent FCAW beads to blueprint specs. Throughout the shift, you verify dimensions with a tape measure, squares, and calipers, operate grinders, torches, and saws, and inspect every weld for strength and compliance. You keep your booth organized, follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines, help move parts when needed, and hit production schedules without sacrificing quality.What You'll DoInterpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols with confidencePerform layout, fit-up, alignment, and assembly prior to weldingExecute flux-cored welding on structural steel and fabricated assembliesMeasure and confirm tolerances to meet quality standardsUse fabrication tools: grinders, cutting torches, saws, hand/power toolsInspect finished welds for quality, strength, and spec complianceMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work cellFollow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelinesAssist with material handling and movement of fabricated parts as neededMeet production deadlines while upholding high qualityWhat You'll Bring2+ years of flux-cored welding and fitting experience preferredAbility to read blueprints and interpret weld symbolsStrong knowledge of FCAW techniquesBackground with structural steel, heavy fabrication, or industrial manufacturing preferredProficiency with tape measures, squares, and calipersAbility to pass a weld testMeticulous workmanship and attention to detailReliable attendance and a solid work ethicPhysical RealitiesStand, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basisWork in a non-climate-controlled shop environmentWear required PPE: welding hood, gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe bootsSchedule & CompensationFull-time roleOvertime may be required based on production needsCompensation based on experience and welding skill levelProficiency ChecklistTape Measure ReadingWelding Setups for ProductionPrimary Process & EquipmentFlux-Cored Arc Welder (FCAW)
