The Commercialization team is a matrix organization within the Company that is dedicated to creating food products that are leading the gold standard in plant-based proteins. We are looking for an outstanding individual to join the team located at the Pilot Plant in El Segundo, CA as a Production Operator.\n\nAs a Production Operator, you will play a key supporting role in the production and packaging process of delicious products. You will handle and monitor product and equipment, ensure that everything is running smoothly, and be a safe, productive, and valued team member.\n\nTASKS, DUTIES, & GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nUnder Supervisor guidance, perform daily production activities and operate equipment while maintaining a safe, high-quality, high-volume manufacturing environment\n\nMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, including sweeping, gathering trash, and other janitorial duties as assigned\n\nPrepare machinery and tools for sanitation, and/or assist with breakdown and cleaning of machinery\n\nOperate trucks and other industrial vehicles to transfer product from warehouse to production to freezer (per business need)\n\nEnsure equipment is maintained in clean, good, and safe working condition and recommend improvements to ensure safety, quality, and production capacity\n\nAssist in assembling and verifying all machinery is set up and ready for production daily and set to spec for operations\n\nPrepare workstations, gather required tools, and retrieve daily batch sheets from Lead/Supervisors\n\nFollow all Food Safety policies in ensuring safety and quality of product\n\nKnow how to verify ingredients are within spec of customer and government regulation\n\nHelp junior Production Operators in their assigned responsibilities\n\nRecommend and support development and process improvements to enhance operational safety and efficiency\n\nIdentify and report unsafe operations to Supervisor or leader immediately\n\nFollow all company policies and procedures, safety procedures, food safety guidelines, and Good Manufacturing Practices beyond regulatory needs\n\nPerforms other duties, as assigned, and follows through on requests in a timely manner\n\nSupervisory Duties\n\nNone\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\n\nEducation, Technical Skills, and/or Previous Experience:\n\nHigh school diploma or GED\n\nManufacturing experience, especially food manufacturing experience, is preferred\n\nProblem solving skills and attention to detail\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\n\nAbility to comprehend and follow instructions\n\nAbility to understand and follow safety rules and Good Manufacturing Practices\n\nTeamwork and a positive attitude are essential to maintain a culture of cooperation and respect\n\nMust be able to work individually in a team environment\n\nMust be punctual and dependable\n\nFlexibility to work any/all shifts to support a high growth work environment\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\n\nWarehouse and production manufacturing environment that includes both tempered and ambient areas.\n\nThe work environment is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\n\nPosition requires the ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods, step, balance, crouch, stoop, kneel, squat, bend, must be able to lift minimal 50 lbs. consistently, reach above shoulders, or as needed to complete tasks.\n\nMust be able to occasionally climb stairs or a ladder to complete tasks.\n\nPosition located in a mix of production and office environments and requires a tolerance for consistent cold work environments (-10 to -40˚ F), high worker traffic, loud noises, odors, dust, and varying room temperatures.\n\nThis position will be required to visit the pilot plant production floor, refrigerated and frozen storage, and warehouses.\n\nWork flexible shifts as required.\n\n**Hourly rate commensurate with experience**\n\nThe starting hourly base pay for this role is between USD $20 and $23 per hour. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
