As an entry-level Test Engineer, you’ll assist the Test Director and senior engineers in coordinating test card execution, preparing setups and facility needs, performing inspections, and delivering test artifacts. You’ll learn how engineering requirements translate to test plans, partner with Evaluation and Systems Engineering, contribute to upgrades of test systems, and support the test operations team throughout test campaigns. You’ll develop core test engineering skills with strong mentorship, focusing on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.\nJob Description\nRoles and Responsibilities\nAssist with test readiness activities, including setup, instrumentation checks, and pre-test inspections under guidance.\nHelp prepare and update test cards, procedures, and checklists; track changes and approvals.\nSupport day-of-test execution by monitoring test steps, logging data, and communicating status to the Test Director.\nPerform basic data review and help compile results, plots, and summaries for internal customers with technical oversight.\nCoordinate with Systems and Evaluation Engineering to clarify requirements and ensure proper integration into test plans.\nHelp maintain the test schedule, track hardware needs, and support asset/rig readiness to meet program milestones.\nContribute to lessons learned capture, corrective actions, and knowledge sharing across engine owners.\nParticipate in priority meetings, tollgate reviews, and readiness checks; follow documented best practices and TSE processes.\nSupport budget/schedule inputs by providing estimates and status to responsible teams; learn finance and scheduling tools.\nMaintain transparent, professional communication with program customers and cross-functional partners.\nPrioritize safety and compliance, promptly escalating risks and following standard work.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science.\nInternship/co-op, project work, or lab experience related to testing, instrumentation, or data analysis preferred.\nLegal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We do not sponsor employment visas for this role.\nDesired Characteristics\nExposure to engine or rig testing, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.\nFamiliarity with finance and scheduling tools (Open Plan, Clarity) and analytics/visualization (Spotfire or similar).\nBasic understanding of project coordination and ability to manage multiple tasks with supervision.\nStrong written and verbal communication, teamwork, and a learning mindset.\nExperience collaborating with DoD or commercial customers and processes is a plus.\nAwareness of lean/continuous improvement concepts and standard work.\nAbility to obtain DoD Security Clearance (Secret or higher).\nThis role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
