Military Veterans Encouraged to Apply.\nJob Description:\nThe Database Engineer / SQL Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the database systems that support the organization's applications and operations. This role involves creating efficient queries, ensuring data integrity, optimizing performance, and collaborating with various departments to meet their data needs. The candidate will leverage their expertise in SQL and database management to support both modern and legacy systems.\nRequirements:\nU.S Citizenship required.\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance\nThis position is remote but may require occasional onsite meetings in McLean, VA.\nYou can be based out of following states: AZ, DC, FL, GA, OH, ME, MD, SC, TX, UT, VA, NC, OK, WV.\nQualifications and Experience:\nBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.\nAt least 7 years of experience in Oracle-focused database engineering or a related role.\nProficiency in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including stored procedures, functions, and packages, and experience with Oracle RDS.\nStrong understanding of database design principles, normalization, and data modeling, including schema and metadata management.\nExperience with performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries, including indexing strategies, execution plans, partitioning, and materialized views.\nKnowledge of ETL/ELT data transformations and data validation and reconciliation frameworks.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, including data quality profiling and discrepancy analysis.\nAttention to detail and commitment to quality.\nExcellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience in a government contracting environment.\nFamiliarity with cloud-based database solutions and tools.\nCertifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or similar.\nResponsibilities\nDatabase Design and Implementation:\nDesign, develop, and maintain database schemas, tables, views, indexes, and other database objects.\nEnsure databases are optimized for performance, security, and reliability.\nSQL Development:\nDevelop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions to meet specific business requirements.\nOptimize SQL queries to improve performance and reduce response times.\nData Management:\nEnsure data integrity and consistency across various systems and databases.\nPerform data migrations and transformations as needed.\nPerformance Monitoring and Tuning:\nMonitor database performance, identify potential issues, and implement performance tuning measures.\nConduct regular database maintenance tasks such as indexing, backups, and restorations.\nCollaboration:\nWork closely with software developers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide necessary support.\nAssist in the development and implementation of data governance policies and best practices.\nDocumentation and Reporting:\nMaintain comprehensive documentation for database design, development processes, and operational procedures.\nGenerate and present reports on database status, performance, and issues resolved.\nSecurity and Compliance:\nEnsure databases comply with relevant security standards and regulations, including data encryption and access controls.\nSupport audits and compliance checks as required.\nCompensation and Benefits:\nAt NDi, we value our team and are committed to retaining top talent by offering competitive benefits and compensation packages.
