Some out of state travel required\r\nDuties and Responsibilities:\r\nOperates, loads, and unloading of oversized and/or overweight equipment and ensure that all loads are properly prepared, loaded, and secured before the vehicle proceeds to avoid shifting, loosening, or falling while in route; perform a thorough pre- and post-check to inspect the load and truck before and after each stop\r\nAbility to read and review permit for route, special considerations, and safety provisions\r\nPrepare before and stow away after each trip the vehicle, trailer, and all auxiliary equipment such as chains, straps, blocks, and gears\r\nComply with all DOT, state, and local traffic and highway laws, rules and regulations and safely operate all equipment in compliance with all legal weight and load size limits\r\nTake pictures of questionable machine damage and report immediately\r\nEnsure all items transported are on the manifest are accurate and error free\r\nPerforms general maintenance, minor repairs, and regular service on mobile equipment and equipment daily as directed by supervisor\r\nMechanical and hydraulic trailer experience as well as skills to perform minor maintenance on equipment as required\r\nSafety, Safety, Safety comply with all DOT and company policies, procedures, and standards of safety\r\nOther duties as assigned\r\nEducation and/or Experience:\r\nMust be at least 18 years old\r\nValid Class A CDL with Doubles/Triples, Hazmat, and Tanker endorsements or the ability to obtain endorsements is required\r\nValid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate is required\r\nBasic knowledge and understanding of all oversized/overweight hauling rules and regulations on federal, state, county, and city jurisdictions is required\r\nAbility to pass a pre-employment drug test is required\r\nAbility to lift and move up to 50 pounds is required\r\nAcceptable MVR in accordance with Blount Company Vehicle Program policy is required\r\nOvernight travel will be required\r\nAbility to complete work tasks under various adverse weather conditions including heat in excess of 100 degrees, cold, and rain\r\nBasic Computer Skills Required (Email, Smart Phone, Excel)\r\nPhysical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\r\nAbility to lift and move up to 50 pounds is required\r\nAcceptable MVR in accordance with Blount Vehicle Program policy is required\r\nOvernight travel will be required\r\nAbility to complete work task under various adverse weather conditions including heat in excess of 100 degrees, cold, and rain\r\nIndividual Development (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):\r\nAbility to operate heavy equipment safely\r\nAttention and commitment to safety\r\nAbility to work well with others in a team environment\r\nAbility to follow instructions\r\nAbility to work long hours\r\nAbility to move at least 50 pounds\r\nKnowledge of DOT compliance\r\nAs part of our hiring process, all candidates are subject to a comprehensive background check.
