This individual should have a strong work ethic, be proficient with computers, and be able to work independently and efficiently.\n\nHours: 9:00am - 5:30pm or 10:00am - 6:30pm, based on candidate preference\n\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:\n\nMaterial Handling:\nInspect, tag, and transfer raw material to designated warehouse storage racks.\nCollaborate with the purchasing team to report any discrepancies or issues with incoming materials.\nMaintain accurate inventory records of raw materials by recording all material receipts and movements in the ERP system.\nOperate forklift, hand-operated crane, hoist, and hand truck as needed (only ~5% of shift)\nLoad and unload the scrap truck.\nFilter recycled oil and operate the still.\nMaintain a clean and organized storage area by removing empty storage containers from racks, sweeping and mopping as necessary.\nReceive incoming bar stock deliveries using a forklift.\nMachine Loading:\nReview production schedules to determine material requirements for upcoming jobs.\nInspect bar stock for any defects or irregularities before loading into machines.\nPrep material for loading in bar feeders.\nTransport and load bar stock into machines for machine operators.\nEnsure proper alignment and positioning of materials to meet machine specifications.\nCollaborate with machine operators to optimize workflow and minimize downtime.\nCommunication:\nMaintain clear and open communication with team members, supervisors, and other departments.\nProvide timely updates on material availability or any other issues that may impact production.\nExamine processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.\nAdditional Support Responsibilities:\nServe as a backup for the chip spinning process, supporting the Material Recycler as needed to ensure efficient recycling and processing of material waste.\nAll other duties as assigned.\nRequirements:\nSkills & Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is a plus.\n1-2 years of proven experience in a material handling role is desired, but willing to train the right individual. Previous experience in a machine shop environment is a plus.\nForklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment is desired, but we train in house.\nProficient computer and data entry skills (ERP system experience highly preferred).\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to follow work instructions.\nAbility to read and interpret production schedules, blueprints, and technical documents.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nA positive attitude and exceptional aptitude for growing your skills.\nEffective decision making and problem-solving skills with a drive for results.
