The qualified candidate will be responsible for support, development, integration and management of Splunk in addition to a variety of other tasks.\n\nResponsibilities:\nCandidate will drive deployments of Splunk while working side by side with the customers to solve their unique problems across a variety of use cases\nCandidate will drive standardization of data collection across devices within the organization\nDevelop and deploy unique collectors using scripts and collectors developed\nCollaborate across the entire organization to bring Splunk access to product and technical teams to get the right solution delivered and drive future innovation gathered from customer input\nLeverage previous experience, share best practice and create solutions to push user adoption and maximize the value of Splunk\nDesign, Deploy, support and maintain Splunk cluster infrastructure in a highly available, geo-redundant configuration\nStandardized Splunk agent deployment, configuration and maintenance across a variety of platformsusing multiple configuration management systems\nTroubleshoot Splunk server and agent problems and issues\nAssist internal users of Splunk in designing and maintaining production-quality dashboards\nParticipate as a Splunk escalation point for operations support\nMonitor the agent and server infrastructure for capacity planning and optimization\nDesign core Systems performance and troubleshooting logs\nSupport Splunk on Unix, Linux and Windows-based platforms\n\nBasic Requirements:\n2-4 years of experience with data analysis, logging solutions, system and network monitoring, and technical consulting\nAbility to assess customer's situation, business needs, complex problems, and provide a solution forward\nExperience with both the Unix and Windows operating systems; comfortable on the command line interface\nWorking knowledge or recent experience with scripting languages (i.e., Bash or Perl) or application development (JAVA, Python, .NET), relational databases, and analytical tools\nAbility to stop, collaborate and listen with technical and non-technical consumers from IT administrators to executive level stakeholders\nSelf-motivated and self-educating, able to function independently as needed. Also, need to be able to collaborate with fellow Splunk engineers as well as customers.\nAbility to function independently and in a team is a MUST.\nWell organized with a healthy sense of urgency, able to set; communicate; and meet aggressive deadlines with competing priorities\nDemonstrable understanding of common enterprise applications (especially in the areas of security and finance)\n\nPreferred:\nAny Splunk Certification\nPrevious training and hands on experience with Splunk\nOperational experience with any of the following areas: network engineering, Linux/Unix systems administration, Windows/Active Directory administration, network security, firewalls, NIDS, NIPS, web proxy solutions, email security, systems security (HIPS/HIDS), security analyst, storage, virtualization, mail servers, data modeling and pivot tables\nExperience with Virtualization technologies\nExperience in one of the following programming languages: Java, C++, Python, Ruby, Perl\nExperience with Regular Expressions (REGEX)\nPrevious experience with a software configuration management system (subversion, git, hub, cvs, chef, puppet, SCCM, etc.)\nMicrosoft, Linux or networking certifications\n\nDesirable:\nStrong oral and written communication skills: including documentation\nAbility to work collaboratively and lead within Splunk analytics team; ability to work independently as well\nAbility to handle multiple tasks concurrently\nStrong interpersonal and leadership skills\nGood in interaction with business and technology\nAbility to work with customer stakeholders and define their needs and translate those needs into Splunk queries and dashboards\n\nWindward strives to attract and retain the best individuals and provide an environment where they can all grow professionally and build a rewarding career.
