This position will build and modernize secure, high availability systems and services, APIs, user interfaces, and data integrations in an Agile federal environment and will support upcoming AI and intelligent automation initiatives.\n\nPrimary Responsibilities:\n\nDesign, develop, test, deploy, and maintain full stack features, responsive user interfaces, APIs, microservices, and event driven integrations using Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, and approved web frameworks.\nBuild and support AWS cloud native solutions using services such as Lambda, API Gateway, ECS and Fargate, S3, SNS, SQS, CloudFront, and infrastructure as code.\nDevelop secure and efficient data solutions using Aurora PostgreSQL or PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch or OpenSearch, including data migration, indexing, query optimization, and integration patterns.\nModernize legacy services and applications for AWS while maintaining operational continuity, data integrity, performance, and backward compatibility.\nStrong, recent experience with Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, REST APIs, and a modern single page application framework.\nContribute to planned AI enabled features by integrating approved models and services with secure data access, evaluation, traceability, human review, and responsible AI guardrails.\nExperience integrating generative AI or machine learning capabilities using AWS Bedrock or comparable managed services.\nCreate automated unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and support CI/CD pipelines, release validation, production monitoring, troubleshooting, and defect resolution.\nCollaborate with program stakeholders, product managers, architects, business analysts, QA engineers, DevSecOps engineers, and developers throughout discovery, design, delivery, and operations.\nImprove application availability, scalability, observability, accessibility, and performance using metrics, logs, traces, and proactive engineering practices.\nRequirements:\nBachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field.\nFive or more years of backend or full stack application development experience.\nHands on experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, ECS or Fargate, CloudFormation, S3, SNS, and SQS.\nExperience designing microservices, serverless applications, asynchronous workflows, and event driven integrations.\nExperience with PostgreSQL or Aurora PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch or OpenSearch, including data modeling and performance tuning.\nExperience with automated testing, Git based development, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and production troubleshooting.\nUnderstanding of cloud security, IAM, encryption, logging, API protection, vulnerability remediation, and secure coding practices.\n\nDesired Skills\n\nExperience supporting DOT or other federal applications and compliance environments.\nExperience modernizing legacy applications and migrating services or databases to AWS.\nExperience with Docker, container orchestration, CloudWatch, distributed tracing, and operational observability.\nExperience with Python and data processing or analytics workflows.\nKnowledge of retrieval augmented generation, embeddings, vector search, prompt design, model evaluation, responsible AI controls, and human in the loop workflows.\nExperience with accessibility standards, including Section 508 and USWDS based application development.\nAWS Developer, Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, AI Practitioner, or Machine Learning certification.\n\nAdditional Information:\n\nIn order to meet the clearance requirements for this opportunity, candidates must be US Citizen and/or Current Green Card Holder.\nAll candidates will be subject to a complete background check to include, but not limited to Criminal History, Education Verification, Professional Certification Verification, Verification of Previous Employment and Credit History.\nPublic Trust background investigations can take approximately four to eight weeks and requires fingerprinting.\n\nOther Information:\n\nThe salary for this position is $80,000 -
