Web Developer (Mid to Senior Level) WSP is currently initiating a search for a Web Developer (Mid to Senior Level) to join our Visual Studios Interactive Department within Advanced Complimentary Services. The candidate selected for this position may work remotely full-time at a location other than a WSP-designated office or job site. This role is ideal for a developer who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming to create innovative, high-impact interactive services and solutions.In this role, you will take responsibility for the full lifecycle of web applications, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, support, and maintenance. You will work closely with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes and mockups into performant, user-centered web applications, helping define both how applications look and how they work.You will also collaborate with internal visualization and technical teams to bridge the gap between advanced visual content and modern web technologies, delivering engaging, interactive user experiences on mobile and desktop.Your ImpactDesign and develop modern web applications from UI/UX design wireframes and mockupsTranslate graphical designs and functional requirements into performant, scalable web applicationsOptimize applications for performance, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibilityDevelop web applications that function consistently across platforms and browsersIntegrate Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) using appropriate APIs or SDKsApply cloud-first and responsive design methodologiesCreate and maintain source code repositories using GitCollaborate with designers, developers, project leads, project managers, and clientsMentor and support team members through code reviews, technical guidance, and feedbackDevelop unit tests and perform exploratory and guided testingEnsure common vulnerabilities, including those identified in the OWASP Top 10, are mitigatedDebug, support, and maintain web applications developed by you and othersProvide technical support to end users as neededPerform additional responsibilities as assignedWho You AreRequired Qualifications6+ years of experience directly related to web developmentProficient in HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web design principlesStrong experience supporting and maintaining production web applications relied upon by usersHands on experience interfacing programmatically with APIs such as Google Maps or other mapping platformsStrong understanding of JavaScript and JavaScript Object Notation (JSON)Ability to write clear documentation and maintain appropriately commented, readable codeExperience creating motion and interactivity that drives user engagementProven experience mentoring and cross-training team members, including conducting code reviewsStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skillsWillingness to grow and learn in a rapidly evolving technology landscapeExperience using Git in a collaborative, multi-developer environmentSolid understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAXAbility to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiencesStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work effectively and professionally with clients, peers, managers, and stakeholdersAbility to manage scope, schedule, and priorities in a dynamic, fast-moving environmentStrong organizational skills with the ability to consistently deliver high-quality workPositive attitude and adaptability within a deadline-driven, team-oriented environmentPreferred Qualifications2+ years of experience with Vue.js or similar front-end frameworksExperience with Quasar or other UI libraries or frameworksUnderstanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), common design patterns, and data structuresExperience working with SVGs, including animation and interactive behaviorsMid-level experience working with Azure Cosmos DB or relational databasesContributions to open-source projects and an active GitHub portfolioWorking knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508, etc.)Experience with WordPress or other popular Content Management Systems (CMS)Enjoyment in owning, troubleshooting, and solving complex technical challengesWSP Benefits:WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on providing health and financial stability throughout the employee's career.
