Job Title: General Maintenance Technician - TS/SCIJob Category: Engineering and Technical SupportTime Type: Full timeMinimum Clearance Required to Start: TS/SCIEmployee Type: RegularPercentage of Travel Required: Up to 10%Type of Travel: LocalThe OpportunityThe selected General Maintenance Technician candidate will be responsible for completing various general and specialized trade skills, including but not limited to electrical, carpentry, painting, concrete, plumbing, welding, drywall installation or repair, and repair of various ceiling systems.The ResponsibilitiesDuties may include maintenance of the structure surrounding the facility such as fencing and gates.Responsible for infrastructure sustainment activities.Repair and change locks in the building and perform complex lock servicing to ensure maximum safety of all people.Develop supply estimates for various projects, gather technical data, evaluate and formulate safety procedures, material and fiscal requirements for assigned projects.Assist project coordinator in planning, cost estimating, designing, developing and completing local projects.Possess a working knowledge of laws, policies and procedures pertaining to the construction work environment, i.e., OSHA, facility, system equipment security, ECAP, and NEC.Apply electrical, mechanical and structural knowledge to perform duties and interpret construction and building blueprints periodically.Able to lift and/or carry objects up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, walk up several flights of stairs, work on elevated surfaces and/or work in unusual or uncomfortable body positions or environmental conditions.Some positions involve performance of work outdoors during various weather conditions.The QualificationsVocational or High School Diploma or equivalent, and at least seven (7) years experience as a General Maintenance Mechanic.Specialized experience may include but is not limited to engineering technician work fundamentals: electrical, carpentry, painting, concrete, plumbing, welding, and drywall; interpreting diagrams, specifications, manuals and supply/cost estimates.Experience in troubleshooting techniques to determine exact problems and tackle them accordingly.Excellent ability to communicate system problems to co-workers and management.Exhibit good mechanical skills to handle equipment to avoid causing injuries to self and others on ground.Must have ability to evaluate computer related work orders accurately.US Citizen with active TS/SCI clearance required.Pay RangeThere are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education and certifications.
