SummaryWithin the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools' Office of School Options and Innovation, the Department of Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides project-based, career-focused learning to accelerate students along the path to success in college and careers. Learning is both classroom and work based with all high school programs of study articulating to industry credentials, 2 year degrees and/or 4 year degrees. CTE also supports the work of our middle and early colleges where students simultaneously pursue a high school diploma and an Associate's Degree and/or up to two years of transferrable college credit. CTE is present in every CMS middle and high school and serves over 49,000 students.Essential Duties For Assigned SchoolSupport instructional development of CTE Career Pathway teachers to achieve targeted outcomes including but not limited to industry relevant certification attainment by studentsProvides curriculum management for CTE Teachers to support pacing and full content delivery Collaborates with central office Pathway Leads to develop targeted content and instructional supportCollaborate with building administration and CTE teachers to identify growth metrics for certifications, WorkKeys, end of course exams and EVAASDevelop an action plan for achieving growth measuresUses data to inform instructional needs and prioritize coachingDesign and deliver professional learning to facilitate improvement of all performance indicators that align with the NC Teacher Evaluation, CTE Local School Plan and district initiativesCollaborate with other instructional leaders in the school, including but not limited to active participation in the Instructional Leadership Team (ILT)Support central office in development and implementation of New Teacher Orientation in AugustDevelop and implement onboarding process for new teachers, licensed and lateral entryFacilitate Professional Learning Communities for CTE teachersProvides Instructional Coaching to all CTE teachers including but not limited to modeling/co-teaching strategies, lesson design, and classroom management strategiesManages the CTE Lateral Teacher Assistance Program to ensure successful completionFacilitates collaboration for cross curricular lesson development where cohorts of students are shared including NAF and small learning community schoolsVerify and submit orders for all CTE Programs at assigned schoolCollaborate with CTE School Support Team to ensure teacher and student successPerforms related duties as assigned.Education And ExperienceMinimumBS Degree and current teaching license in CTE program area or a BS Degree and current license in Curriculum Development or Instructional TechnologyFive years of work experience within the past eight years in one of the following three areas:classroom teacher in a CTE program areaprofessional support in an educational setting:Career Development CoordinatorSpecial Populations CoordinatorCurriculum Specialist3. Instructional Technology SpecialistDesirableFive years of teaching experience in the past eight years.Licensing / Certification Requirements Eligible for CTE 830 Instructional Management Coordinator (per state release July of current year)Current teaching license in any CTE area or current license in Curriculum Instructional Specialist OR Instructional Technology Specialist; MOS Excel before the end of the provisional license periodClearing Specific requirements:Provisional License must be added by the LEA during first year of hireIMC Induction - 40 hour Instructional Coordinator Induction program approved by the NC Dept. of Instruction, Division of Career and Technical Education is requiredMOS Certification - Excel
