This position is responsible for full-scope, hands on production cooking in the Community Culinary Services Department. Is responsible for maintaining a superior level of quality service and cleanliness at all times and supervising our team members in the Department.\n\nHere are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Cook:\n\nExemplify at all times Community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and operational organization.\n\nResponsible for adhering to food quality, appearance and presentation standards at all times.\n\nProduce and serve menu cycle programs that are compliant with required Nutritional/Dietary criteria as required by local regulations and correctly prepare diets provided per Policy and Procedure.\n\nExhibit cooking standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency.\n\nDemonstrate knowledge in all areas of cooking preparation and production.\n\nAssist with serving of meals and ware washing as necessary.\n\nVisit residents periodically to evaluate food service such as quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance; and conduct evaluations to make revisions in operations / procedures to promote improved food service.\n\nRepresent the community in a warm and inviting manner, which creates a positive marketing environment.\n\nSupports creating a culture where the business decisions made in this position, along with individual employee engagement, drive top-line revenue and occupancy.\n\nSupport the Director of Food & Beverage on all management practices.\n\nHere are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:\n\nAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts preferred\n\nMinimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Chef/Kitchen Manager in a food service environment\n\nOne year of hospitality or senior living/housing industry preferred\n\nOne year of hospital/healthcare preferred\n\nMust hold current state-required sanitation (Safe Food Handling and/or Certified Food Manager) certification/license per state requirements\n\nMust possess current and valid driver’s license consistent with the requirements determined by size of vehicle and laws of the state in which the driver is licensed.\n\nMust possess personal driving record consistent with the requirements of the Driver Selection Policy.\n\nThe Community embraces a culture of hospitality.
