This on-the-job experience will support the firm’s transportation, water, and wastewater departments by participating in the field observation of a variety of projects and an opportunity to work directly with firm clients. Assignments may involve roadway reconstructions, structural (bridges and walls) improvements, water and stormwater infrastructure construction, and sanitary sewer projects. The Intern will be actively involved in the oversight of construction, earning valuable experience in the civil engineering field.\n\nWhat your day-to-day will look like, what you will learn on the job:\n\nConstruction services associated with quantity computation, construction layout, survey, and construction inspection.\nField work, studies, and design of water and wastewater system rehabilitation.\nAssisting engineers with the evaluation, study, and design of transportation, storm sewer, potable water, sanitary sewers, and treatment plant improvements.\n\nEducation Requirement:\n\nOngoing pursuit of a 4-year degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in construction engineering\n\nMust-haves, what you will bring:\n\nAvailable to start May 2027.\nAbility to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman service area (own transportation).\nWork in a team environment.\nStrong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.\nDesire and ability to work outdoors 40+ hours per week.\nAble to identify and solve problems promptly.\n\nCompensation: The hourly pay for this role is $23.00. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.\n\nYou matter!
