Part-Time Marketing Manager – Events & Community (Contract)Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite weekly)Schedule: Part-Time (20–25 hours/week)Duration: 6-Month Contract (Potential Extension)OverviewWe are seeking an experienced part-time Marketing Manager to support a high-growth startup and venture ecosystem program focused on community engagement, events, and strategic marketing initiatives. This role will serve as the primary execution lead across founder community programming, event activations, and operational marketing support during a maternity leave coverage period.The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives in fast-paced environments, and has experience working with startup founders, venture capital communities, or B2B technology ecosystems.What You'll DoEvents & Campaign ExecutionLead end-to-end planning and execution of events including executive dinners, founder gatherings, conferences, and large-scale activationsCoordinate logistics, timelines, invitations, registration management, and onsite event supportPartner cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and external partners to drive successful event outcomesSupport industry event activations and integrated marketing initiatives tied to broader growth campaignsCoordinate campaign elements including email, social, and event-related marketing supportCommunity ManagementManage and grow a Slack-based founder and operator communityOwn community engagement strategy including content calendars, announcements, programming, and moderationCoordinate monthly office hours, networking opportunities, and virtual community eventsDevelop and publish community content, resources, and event communicationsTrack engagement metrics and maintain visibility into community growth and activityOperations & ReportingMaintain campaign, registration, and engagement tracking processesPrepare weekly updates and reporting across events, partnerships, and community initiativesSupport forecasting, quarterly business reviews, and operational improvementsManage multiple concurrent workstreams with minimal oversightIdentify process improvements and operational efficiencies where neededQualifications5–12 years of experience in B2B marketing, events, community management, startup programs, or ecosystem marketingStrong project management and stakeholder coordination skillsExperience executing events such as conferences, executive dinners, networking events, or marketing activationsExcellent written communication and content development abilitiesExperience using collaboration and productivity tools such as Slack and Google WorkspaceAbility to work independently in a fast-moving environment while managing multiple prioritiesPreferred ExperienceStartup, venture capital, accelerator, or founder ecosystem experienceCommunity management experience (Slack or similar platforms)Experience supporting executive audiences including founders, investors, or C-suite leadersBackground in field marketing, ecosystem marketing, startup programs, or founder community engagementExperience within B2B technology environmentsAdditional DetailsHybrid schedule: 3 days onsite in San FranciscoMust be available to support occasional evening events during major conferences and activationsPacific Time preferred with flexibility for occasional East Coast meetingsThis is a maternity leave coverage role supporting an established program with existing processes and stakeholder relationshipsInterview ProcessInitial 30-minute phone screenWork sample or portfolio review for selected candidates (examples may include writing samples, presentation decks, or event recaps)Two additional 30-minute interviewsIf you're passionate about building founder communities, executing high-impact events, and supporting innovative startup ecosystems, we'd love to hear from you.
