We are looking for an enterprising mid-level to senior software-focused Systems Engineer to perform software systems engineering for the acquisition, development and sustainment of various aviation programs. This position requires full-time on-site presence at the NAVAIR base in PAX River, MD.\nThis position is future funded and not expected to begin before September 1, 2026 Clearance An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Candidates may be required to obtain a Top Secret clearance after beginning this work. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.\nRequirements At least ten years experience performing software and systems engineering activities\nExperience with military aircraft avionic systems and/or software\nResponsibilities Develop and maintain software requirements\nReview and evaluate vendor software specifications\nCoordinate with vendors on software and system integration\nConduct analysis of software defects\nCoordinate with cybersecurity subject Matter experts\nParticipate in System Engineering Technical Reviews (including SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs, etc.)\nSupport the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process\nParticipate in Agile and SAFe team processes\nPrepare and review Statements of Work (SOWs) and Contract Deliverable Requirements Lists (CDRLs)\nDevelop Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs)\nSupport technical evaluations of Contractor proposals\nPreferred Skills and Experience Experience with DOD-STD-2167A/MIL-STD-498/IEEE 12207\nExperience with Systems Software, Systems-of-Systems engineering, MBSE, or systems safety & reliability\nExperience with Agile software development processes\nEducation BS in a technical discipline from an ABET accredited program\nCompensation Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements. The projected annual compensation range for this position is $120,000 -$176,000 (USD).
