This role involves planning, organizing, and managing the installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration systems to ensure they operate efficiently and safely.\r\nBenefits\r\nESI covers 100% of the medical premium for all employees and families.\r\nGreat per-diem and subsistence for traveling roles.\r\nGreat upward mobility for career growth.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nLead a team of refrigeration technicians, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing guidance to ensure high-quality work and efficient operations.\r\nPlan and schedule daily tasks, maintenance activities, and repair work for the refrigeration team.\r\nOversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of various refrigeration systems, including commercial and industrial units, cold storage facilities, and HVAC-R systems.\r\nCollaborate with engineering and maintenance departments to develop preventive maintenance schedules and strategies to optimize system performance and reduce downtime.\r\nConduct regular inspections of refrigeration equipment, identifying and addressing potential issues to prevent system failures and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.\r\nTroubleshoot and diagnose complex refrigeration system problems, using advanced technical knowledge to develop effective solutions.\r\nMaintain accurate records of work performed, equipment maintenance schedules, and inventory of spare parts and supplies.\r\nEnsure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations in all refrigeration-related activities.\r\nProvide technical training and mentorship to refrigeration technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill development.\r\nMonitor energy consumption and implement energy-efficient practices to minimize operational costs.\r\nCoordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary equipment, parts, and supplies for refrigeration projects.\r\nMaintain a safe work environment by enforcing proper safety procedures and protocols.\r\nPrepare and submit regular reports on the status of refrigeration projects, maintenance activities.\r\nAssist the team in the installation of new refrigeration equipment and retrofitting existing systems.\r\nSupport the team by any means necessary while acquiring knowledge of the trade.\r\nHelp maintain and repair refrigeration equipment, as well as the maintenance of tools and equipment.\r\nEnsure the work site is always clean and organized.\r\nComply with all Federal and State OSHA Standards, as well as ESI's Safety Program.\r\nWork flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and participate in on-call rotations as required.\r\nAssist with other ESI self-perform scopes outside of refrigeration when needed.\r\nPerform installation of PVC, PEX, and brazing of copper pipe.\r\nPhysically move equipment with the assistance of tools and equipment.\r\nPerform tasks as directed by Foremen, Superintendents, and Construction Managers.\r\nEffectively install equipment and materials pertaining to refrigeration.\r\nInstall, repair, test, and diagnose refrigeration equipment.\r\nFollow plans, specifications, and installation manuals.\r\nFollow refrigeration safety protocols and procedures.\r\nQualifications\r\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\r\nHVAC-R Journeymen License.\r\nProven experience (5+ years) as a Refrigeration Technician or similar role, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.\r\nOSHA 30.\r\nIn-depth knowledge of refrigeration systems, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.\r\nStrong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of technicians.\r\nExcellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with the capacity to make informed decisions under pressure.\r\nSolid understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to refrigeration systems.\r\nExceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with team members, vendors, and management.\r\nProficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software applications.\r\nStrong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.\r\nWillingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations.\r\nValid driver's license and reliable transportation.\r\nWorking Conditions\r\nThis position requires outdoor work, with exposure to various weather conditions. The role may occasionally require working in high, precarious places; near fumes or airborne particles; and handling toxic or caustic chemicals. There is also a risk of electrical shock and vibration in certain situations. The work environment noise level is usually loud.\r\nPhysical Demands\r\nThis position may require frequent travel by motor vehicle. The role may involve extended hours on construction sites, necessitating physical stamina to move around the premises. The ability to lift and/or move materials and tools is essential, with a maximum weight limit of 50 lbs. These tasks may vary and are not required to be performed daily.
