Find your future with us.\n\nThe Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT & E) Test Operations & Engineering (TO & E) Instrumentation Data System Installation Design team located in Berkeley, MO is seeking Manufacturing Engineers to provision Flight Test Instrumentation hardware on multiple aircraft platforms. On this team, a Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly & Installation) has the primary responsibility for the fabrication and installation of the mechanical and electrical hardware required to install a flight test data system. Design-Build Flight Test Manufacturing Engineers work the entire production cycle from review of engineering, manufacturing plan authorship, fabrication sourcing (inside and outside of Boeing) and detail planning, and continuing on through installation planning and shipside support.\n\nManufacturing Engineers are owners of the build plan and ensure compliance to design configuration, build plan, and process requirements. Manufacturing Engineering performs Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) analysis and develops an integrated build plan consisting of work instructions for assembly/fabrication, kitting, tooling, inspection requirements, and other outputs to ensure fabrication meets design, test, and program requirements.\n\nBT & E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced and Senior level Manufacturing Engineers.\n\nPosition Responsibilities Include:\n\nSynthesis of test hardware & instrumentation requirements in support of flight test\n\nReview of design models and drawings, creating/reviewing redlines and coordinating with design to incorporate updates\n\nAuthorship of manufacturing plans to facilitate build\n\nSourcing of fabrication & assembly including work statement creation as needed\n\nFabrication coordination and liaison\n\nPart sourcing from production\n\nProcurement of parts/material to support test, coordination with supplier management\n\nShipside (at the aircraft) support of test hardware installation\n\nAt times support manufacturing engineering tasks across different Boeing sites\n\nClose coordination with: Boeing flight test organization, instrumentation engineers and technicians, program engineers, Boeing customers, fabrication technicians and support personnel (material management), electrical and mechanical designers across design/build and the Enterprise\n\nBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)\n\nBachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement\n\n3+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering\n\n3+ years of experience writing MES plans to support detail part fabrication, assembly and installation\n\n3+ years’ experience with 3D modeling software\n\nComputer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite\n\nPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)\n\n5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience\n\nBachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical or aerospace engineering\n\nExperience leading teams and/or leading initiatives\n\nExperience with a design tool (CAD package) like Siemens NX, CATIA, etc.\n\nExperience working with machine shop processes, prototype development, or fabrication processes\n\nExperience with design and development on rapid development or prototyping\n\nDrug Free Workplace\nBoeing is a Drug Free Workplace (DFW) where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.\n\nConflict of Interest\nSuccessful candidates for this job must satisfy the Companys Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.\n\nPay & Benefits\nAt Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
