This role focuses on backend infrastructure platforms—including compute, virtualization, storage, networking, and cloud services—rather than desktop or end-user support. The ideal candidate is a hands-on infrastructure engineer with deep experience in Windows/Linux servers and modern cloud environments.\n\nResponsibilities\nServer & Infrastructure Operations\nAdminister and maintain Windows Server and Linux server environments (physical and virtual)\nDeploy, configure, and manage virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere / Hyper-V / KVM)\nManage enterprise storage systems (SAN/NAS) and backup platforms\nPerform OS hardening, patching, lifecycle management, and upgrades\nMonitor system health, capacity, and performance\nCloud Infrastructure Administration\nAdminister cloud environments (AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud)\nManage compute, storage, networking, and identity services:\nEC2/VMs, VPC/VNet, IAM, S3/Blob Storage, Load Balancers, Security Groups, etc.\nImplement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM/Bicep)\nSupport hybrid environments (on-prem\ncloud connectivity)\nNetworking & Security\nConfigure and maintain server-side networking (DNS, DHCP, NTP, routing, firewall rules)\nImplement segmentation, access controls, encryption, and logging\nSupport vulnerability remediation and security compliance activities\nAutomation & Reliability\nAutomate administrative tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Python\nBuild monitoring and alerting solutions\n\nParticipate in incident response and root-cause analysis\nDevelop operational runbooks and documentation\nCollaboration\nPartner with DevOps, cybersecurity, and application teams\nProvide infrastructure guidance for new systems and deployments\nOther duties as assigned\n\nQualifications\nStrong Windows Server and Linux administration background\nExperience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)\nExperience administering cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)\nStrong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls)\nExperience with scripting/automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python)\nAbility to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration\nPreferred Qualifications\nInfrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep)\nExperience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)\nExperience with enterprise backup and DR platforms\nExperience supporting compliance frameworks (NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, SOC 2, FedRAMP, CMMC)\nRelevant certifications:\nAWS SysOps Administrator / Solutions Architect\nMicrosoft Azure Administrator\nVMware VCP\nRHCSA/RHCE\n\nClearance:\n\nDOW secret level clearance.\n\nEducation & Experience:\n\n7+ years of IT infrastructure experience with 5+ years managing server environments\nA bachelor’s degree.
