This role is the foundation of that next phase.Why this role existsIf you trained as a behavior technician, you know the skills: reinforcement timing, shaping, reading an animal, staying calm and consistent under pressure. You may also know the conditions the field too often runs on — crushing caseloads, billable-hour pressure, and turnover that treats skilled people as disposable.This is a different offer. Same skillset, applied to dogs, inside a small, founder-led team that is deliberately building a healthy culture from day one. The work is unhurried, the animals are happy, and the method matters more than the clock.We welcome: → Certified technicians currently working with animals or seeking a saner setting. → People trained in behavior technique who are not currently certified — your skills are what we value, and you carry no active-supervision obligation to maintain here.The honest part about timingWe are scaling intentionally, and this role is slow to start as client routes build. Here is the plan we are hiring toward: as service volume grows, we bring on a qualified supervising analyst. At that point, in-house structured behavior work opens up, and team members interested in pursuing or restoring certification can do so under supervision, within a culture built to support it. You would be positioned at the front of that pathway, not the back.We are telling you this plainly because a team built on trust starts at the listing.What you'll do nowProvide daily walks, companionship, and attentive care on assigned routes — absolute safety, always.Apply your behavior knowledge to manage varying temperaments and energy levels calmly and skillfully.Reinforce basic training and good manners on-route, as requested by clients.Document every visit thoroughly; report any health or behavioral concern immediately.Communicate professionally and warmly with owners and the internal team.Embrace new tools and service enhancements as the company grows.What we're looking forTraining or certification in behavior technique (RBT credential a plus; active certification NOT required).Real comfort reading and handling dogs of varying sizes and temperaments.Strong, clear communication and genuine professionalism with clients.High reliability, self-discipline, and sharp time management in independent fieldwork.Reliable transportation across Mountain View and Palo Alto.Physical ability to handle and walk multiple dogs, lift moderate weight, and work outdoors in varying weather.A team-first mindset and flexibility through the shifting phases of a young company.
