BIOFerm is a Wisconsin-based renewable energy company providing turnkey anaerobic digestion and gas upgrading facilities. Committed to sustainable and economical organic waste diversion, BIOFerm’s digester and gas processing technology harnesses biogas from fermenting organics—food waste, manure, biosolids, etc.—and converts it into valuable green energy, vehicle fuel, heat and organic products enabling biogas producers to profitably upgrade biogas to renewable natural gas (RNG).\nBIOFerm is looking for a Process Engineer who will be responsible for developing, designing and permitting technical solutions that will deliver the long-term profit requirements of each project.\nEssential Job Functions:\nDevelop the conceptual design, PFD’s, mass balances, and P&ID’s\nDevelop and validate biogas production and substrate consumption\nLead the permitting process\nWork within the regulatory framework and business development to develop cost neutral, or preferably profitable, outlets for project byproducts\nAssist operations with the development of operation and maintenance budgets for projects\nReview the final plant/process design for each project\nConsult and assist the Project Manager with design modifications during construction\nSupport the operation engineering team\nAssist in the development and maintenance of technical, market and engineering knowledge relative to anaerobic digestion and other methods for producing renewable energy\nAssist Business Development in the development of projects, schedules, and budgets\nParticipate in and lead cross-functional business teams\nResearch new processes/technologies/equipment to improve processes\nPerform other duties and special projects as may be required\nCompetencies/Qualifications:\nBachelor Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering\nMinimum 3 years of experience in a related field, including engineering experience in the refining, petrochemicals, or gas processing industries\nStrong technical abilities and analytical skills\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nExcellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills\nStrong organizational skills, documentation skills, and attention to detail\nAbility to set priorities, meet deadlines and manage time in a fast-paced, changing environment\nDemonstrated proficiency in utilizing computer software including engineering analysis, word-processing and database management programs\nComprehensive understanding of principles of engineering\nKnowledge of renewable energy concepts and technologies\nKnowledge of legal environment regulating renewable energy sources\nEIT or PE is a plus\nValid US driver’s license required\nWillingness to travel and valid US passport required\nMust be authorized to work for any company in the United States. Must not require sponsorship, or continued sponsorship to work for any company in the United States\nCompensation/Benefits:\nCompensation is based on experience and is competitive.
