We support projects across the full lifecycle with a strong focus on safety, quality, and compliance.\r\nPosition Overview ENTRUST Solutions Group is seeking a Utility Inspector Pre/Post Electric & Gas New Business Construction to support underground electric and gas utility projects. This role is responsible for performing field inspections related to new business construction, including pre?construction, in?process, and post?installation inspections of trenching, conduit, and associated facilities.\r\nThis position requires strong field judgment, the ability to coordinate directly with utility customers and contractors, and the flexibility to respond quickly to short?notice inspection requests.\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\nCommunicate directly with utility customers and/or customer contractors to coordinate and schedule pre? and post?construction inspections\r\nParticipate in pre?inspection meetings, when requested, to review scope, standards, and expectations\r\nPerform ditch, trench, and conduit inspections for electric and gas new business construction on the agreed?upon date, adjusting as required for weather or system emergencies\r\nRespond to inspection requests with as little as two (2) business days' notice, recognizing the safety and constructability concerns associated with open trenches\r\nVerify installations comply with Electric and Gas Company Standards, project?specific drawings, and specifications\r\nWork independently in the field while maintaining clear communication with utility supervisors and engineering staff\r\nInspection scope includes (but is not limited to):\r\nConduit installed in approved and documented locations\r\nBed preparation and materials\r\nTrench and conduit depth\r\nSweeps (type and quantity)\r\nConduit size\r\nRoad crossings\r\nClearly marked stub ends\r\nPull tape (type and installation)\r\nOrientation for equipment entry (pad?mounted transformers, switchgear, etc.)\r\nSpacing between gas, electric, and communication utilities\r\nProposed backfill and screenings\r\nEquipment box pads\r\nPull boxes and pedestals\r\nClearances between installed conduit, equipment locations, and existing or proposed structures, including space for risers and gas/electric meters\r\nDocumentation and reporting\r\nComplete an inspection report for each site visit, including a checklist of items reviewed and supporting photographs\r\nMaintain a running deficiency tracking log and distribute updates weekly to engineering staff\r\nTracking logs will include, at a minimum: project name, work order, inspection date, inspector, deficiency noted, engineer name, and status\r\nNotify the utility supervisor directly via phone or email when deficiencies are identified in the field\r\nTraining\r\nThe utility will not provide specific training for this scope of work\r\nInspectors are expected to have the experience and knowledge necessary to perform inspections independently\r\nMinimum requirements\r\nPrior experience inspecting electric and/or gas utility construction, particularly trenching and conduit installations\r\nWorking knowledge of electric and gas utility construction standards\r\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\r\nAbility to respond to short?notice inspection requests\r\nAbility to work independently in outdoor field environments\r\nValid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required\r\nWhy Join Us?\r\nAt ENTRUST Solutions Group, we offer more than just a job; we provide a pathway to impactful and fulfilling work.
