The apprenticeship program provides on-the-job training and classroom or online instruction in the low voltage trade while providing 40 hours per week of paid work. The candidate must successfully pass a probationary period before being enrolled in the apprenticeship program.The perfect candidate will have a great attitude and a willingness to learn. The candidate should also want to develop and pursue a career in the low voltage construction industry.POSITION – Cable Puller / Low Voltage ApprenticePrimary Requirements: Washington DC resident with 0-3 years of experience in structured cabling for Voice, and Video, Data, and have a current OSHA-10 certification prior to onboardingSecondary Requirements: Fiber, Access Control, Security, CCTV, Intrusion Detection, Emergency Call, Intercom and/or Audio VisualGeneral DescriptionPerform a variety of installation tasks to include cable pulling, termination, testing, programming and all necessary verbal/written communicationsPerform service call activities for structured cabling and other low voltage systemsDemonstrate resourcefulness in assessing and troubleshooting of issues and problemsRead and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications and schematicsContinually learn new products, upgrades and software programs related to low voltage systemsRepresent HS Solutions in a professional manner at all timesAbide by OSHA regulations and use protective equipment as requiredQualification RequirementsMust have a great attitudeMust be willing to learn from superiors and peers on the fieldMust be able to attend classes online or in person at least once a weekMust successfully pass a probationary periodMust be able to get to and from project sites independently and on timeExcellent interpersonal skills, good verbal and written communicationAbility to work independently or on a team at multiple locations in the DC Metro areaAbility to exercise sound judgment and find effective solutionsAbility to troubleshoot in a fast-paced environmentMust have clean driving and criminal records and successfully pass a drug testWorking knowledge of hand and power tools is desirablePhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to work on heights (lifts and ladders)Must be able to climb, crawl and raise objects overheadEducation RequirementsMust have high school diploma or GEDMust pass English and math qualification examMust have valid OSHA-10 CertificationCompensation InformationThis position has a non-negotiable established 3-year hourly rate adjustment scheduleApprentice Wage Scale rates will apply depending on project assignmentCompany DescriptionHS Solutions, LLC is a SCN Top 50 Systems Integrator that provides low voltage electrical and communications solutions servicing the commercial and residential markets in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
