Lead Data Architect / Engineer
Role OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on Data Architect / Lead Data Engineer to support the design and development of a multi-tenant data platform for a large-scale eCommerce environment.This role will play a key part in shaping data architecture, building scalable data pipelines, and ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performance data systems across multiple domains.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and build scalable data pipelines integrating systems such as ERP, OMS, CRM, inventory, and pricing platformsContribute to the design and evolution of a canonical data model across domains including product, order, customer, and inventoryDevelop and optimize data warehouse / lakehouse solutions for analytics and reportingImplement event-driven and/or batch data processing workflows, including CDC where applicableSupport data governance efforts, including data quality, access control, and handling of sensitive dataCollaborate with cross-functional teams to align data solutions with platform and business needsParticipate in architecture discussions and design decisions in partnership with platform teamsRequired Qualifications10+ years of experience in Data Architecture (enterprise/platform level)Expertise in event-driven architecture and change data capture (CDC) pipelinesDeep understanding of eCommerce data domains (orders, inventory, pricing, customer data)Experience with data warehousing/lakehouse platforms (Snowflake or equivalent), including schema design and optimizationStrong knowledge of PCI-DSS and GDPR compliance, including data classification, encryption, and access controlsProficiency in Java and PythonExperience leading cross-functional architecture alignment and governance processesPreferred / Technical StackAWS ecosystem: RDS (PostgreSQL), S3, EventBridge, Glue, DMS, EMRDatabases/Platforms: Snowflake, Datastax Astra, NeptuneAI/ML Enablement: SageMaker Feature StoreExperience with data lineage, governance, and large-scale distributed systemsPreferred QualificationsExperience working with event-driven architectures or CDC pipelinesExposure to eCommerce or retail data environmentsFamiliarity with data governance and compliance frameworks (e.g., PII handling, GDPR, PCI)Experience with AWS data services (Glue, DMS, EventBridge, EMR) or equivalentsExposure to AI/ML data pipelines or feature engineering workflowsExperience working in multi-system or multi-domain environmentsKey Success FactorsExposure to AI/ML data pipeline design and feature engineering workflowsExperience working in retail or multi-brand commerce environmentsWork ModelHybrid – Dallas–Fort Worth requiredOccasional on-site presence in Plano based on project needsAbout VRIZEVRIZE is a global Digital & Data Engineering company delivering end-to-end digital solutions across industries including Banking, Financial Services, Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Retail.Headquartered in Tampa, Florida, VRIZE supports clients across the United States with delivery centers in the U.S., Canada, Serbia, and India, partnering with leading technology platforms including Adobe, Microsoft, Snowflake, Tableau, and IBM to deliver scalable digital transformation solutions.VRIZE is an equal opportunity employer
