This fourth-year apprentice has developed strong technical proficiency and code knowledge, demonstrating the ability to complete work safely, efficiently, and to Kearney Electric's quality standards.\r\nThe Apprentice IV will coordinate daily work and will support the Journeyman and Foreman with planning, mentoring lower-level apprentices, and preparing for a field lead position while maintaining adherence to Kearney Electric's Pathways to Excellence mission and core values of Trust, Team, Grit, and Growth.\r\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\r\nDemonstrate strong knowledge of electrical theory in the installation of conduit, wiring, lighting, devices, and electrical equipment under little supervision.\r\nPerform advanced electrical installations including conduit layout, feeders, switchgear, and device terminations.\r\nMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.\r\nProficiency in the proper use and care of hand and power tools used in electrical work.\r\nIdentify and resolve field issues, making recommendations to Foreman or Journeyman.\r\nSupport the setup and takedown of work areas, ensuring all tools and materials are properly secured.\r\nObserve and practice safe work habits consistent with OSHA and company safety standards.\r\nAdvanced knowledge of electrical materials, wire types, fittings, and installation components.\r\nCapable of performing underground and rough-in installations under some supervision.\r\nFollow direction promptly and complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately.\r\nDemonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a willingness to learn every aspect of the trade.\r\nParticipate in weekly safety meetings, training sessions, and company development opportunities.\r\nExpected to complete classroom and on-the-job training requirements in alignment with Kearney Electric's apprenticeship standards.\r\nActively participates in personal and professional development to advance toward Journeyman Electrician status.\r\nJOB REQUIREMENTS\r\nMust be able to work outdoors year-round in various weather conditions typical to Arizona (heat, cold, dust, wind).\r\nAbility to climb ladders, scaffolds, and structures, and work at heights exceeding 30 feet.\r\nMust be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier with assistance.\r\nRequires manual dexterity to handle tools, materials, and electrical components.\r\nMust be able to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, or walk for extended periods.\r\nMust follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations without exception.\r\nRequired to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as dictated by site safety requirements (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, boots, high-visibility clothing, etc.).\r\nResponsible for maintaining a safe work environment for all crew members.\r\nMust communicate effectively (verbal and written) with team members, supervisors, and clients.\r\nExpected to model professionalism, teamwork, and integrity at all times.\r\nMust adhere to company policies, including attendance, conduct, and ethics standards.\r\nProvide mentorship and guidance to Apprentice I, Apprentice II, Apprentice III and helpers, while reinforcing safe and efficient work standards.\r\nHandles material take-offs and staging for assigned work areas to improve efficiency.\r\nAbility to demonstrate skills related to testing for Journeyman level and the mastery of core electrical skills and trade knowledge.\r\nQUALIFICATIONS\r\nHigh school diploma or GED required.\r\nThree years' experience as electrical apprentice.\r\nWillingness to stay engaged in the ABA apprenticeship program.\r\nInterprets complex blueprints, one-lines, and riser diagrams.\r\nMust be able to distinguish wire colors and follow detailed verbal and written instructions.\r\nStrong mechanical aptitude and understanding of construction environments.\r\nLICENSES / SPECIAL TRAINING\r\nValid driver's license and reliable transportation required.\r\nOHSA 10 Required.\r\nCurrent First Aid/CPR certification preferred.\r\nSAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES\r\nEach employee has a responsibility for their own safety, the safety of their co-workers, and the community in which they are operating.\r\nIn the performance of duties and responsibilities, you are expected to observe all safety, health, and loss prevention rules, practices, and procedures, as well as specific instructions related to the safe and efficient performance of your work.\r\nAn effective and viable safety, health, and loss prevention program will be attained only when all employees are safety conscious and keenly aware, both mentally and physically, of the potential hazards of your environment.\r\n— Kearney Electric, LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
