The Material Handler I is responsible for moving jobs from one operation to the next to maintain smooth work flow and helping manage the backlog at work centers. Successful candidates will move up quickly to a Material Handler II. We expect successful candidates will learn the skills needed to move into a career at Davis Tool in our Supply Chain Management, Scheduling, or Manufacturing Departments.\nThis position is part of our leadership pipeline career pathway and can lead to high level carers in this or other departments for the right candidate.\nMonday – Friday workweek:\nGrave Shift – 11:30-7:12 (15.3% shift differential)\nDaily tasks include:\nUsing job tracking software to retrieve specific records, input data, and create reports to determine work required\nTransporting materials using forklifts, pallet jacks and carts\nDistributing jobs and materials in inventory and manufacturing areas\nOrganizing and maintaining work flow through staging areas and in short-term storage.\nWalking, standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, bending and moving material in a 200K square foot facility for a full shift\nCommunicating with leaders and peers about problems and possible solutions\nAccurately counting parts\nMeasuring performance against time and quality standards\nKeeping work areas clear, delivering tools or consumables to work centers\nManaging time and multiple priorities appropriately\nBending, Stooping, Pushing, Pulling, Twisting, and Turning for an entire shift\nWe are looking for candidates with the following attributes:\nStrong verbal communication and teamwork skills\nGood reading, writing, computer, and arithmetic skills\nStrong mechanical, analytical and organizational skills\nAre able to routinely handle objects weighing up to 50 lbs\nValid Driver's license\nAttention to detail and work accurately\nLeadership experience or have taught or trained others\nDavis Tool offers generous benefits, including medical, vision, dental, and 401(k) with match.\nTo apply go to www.davistl.com/jobs .
