Salary: $48,595.00 - $56,090.00 Annually Location : Osage Beach City Hall, 1000 City Parkway, Osage Beach, MO Job Type: Full Time Job Number: 2026.16 Department: Economic Development Opening Date: 05/14/2026 Description Summary General The Public Information Officer (PIO) supports the City's communication, marketing, and community engagement efforts by creating content and managing digital channels. The role ensures information is accurate, consistent, and on brand while working with departments to keep residents and stakeholders informed. This position also supports and contributes to broader community engagement and economic development initiatives. Supervision Received The Public Information Officer (PIO) is responsible to and held accountable by the Marketing & Development Director. Supervision Exercised Not applicable. Expectation of Job Duties Examples of Essential Duties The following examples are meant to be illustrative only and are not intended to be all-inclusive: Social Media ManagementPlan and execute a monthly content calendar highlighting city services, community stories, and department updatesCapture original photography, short-form video, and written contentMonitor comments and messages and route inquiries to the appropriate departmentsReview platform performance and apply insights to improve future contentSupport promotion of city events through coordinated content and campaign executionProvide on-site digital documentation support at City events (i.e. live posting, photography, logistics coordination, etc.) Website & Digital PresenceMaintain and update city website content to ensure accuracy across all departmentsPromote awareness and understanding of City services, policies, projects, and issuesAudit website copy for clarity, accessibility, and SEO best practicesMonitor and update third-party listings (e.g., Google Business Profiles) for accuracy Graphic DesignServe as the primary in-house design resource for the CityCreate marketing materials, digital assets, presentations, and social graphicsDevelop templates for departments to ensure consistent visual standardsTranslate complex initiatives into clear visual formats (infographics, summaries, scorecards) Internal Department SupportCoordinate with departments to gather updates, announcements, and content needsAssist in preparing internal and external communication materialsMaintain a centralized content pipeline to support ongoing communication efforts Scorecard Reporting & CoordinationCollect performance data from departments on a set scheduleManage timelines and follow-ups to ensure timely completionFormat and organize data into clear, visually engaging reports for leadership and public use Other duties as assigned Job Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Technical SkillsWorking proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or strong capability in Canva or similar toolsExperience with CMS platforms (WordPress, CivicPlus, or similar) for website updatesExperience managing social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedInBasic photography and video capture/editing skills for digital contentAbility to turn data and updates into clear, easy-to-understand visuals Core CompetenciesStrong visual judgment in layout, typography, and presentationAbility to manage multiple deadlines and follow up with departments to gather needed informationComfortable shifting between office work and on-site digital documentation supportStrong writing and proofreading skills for social, web, and general communicationsSelf-starter with the ability to work independently and follow through on tasks Qualifications Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, or a related field or2 to 4 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, digital content creation, or graphic design orAny combination of education, training, and/or experience which would qualify for the position including a portfolio demonstrating experience in graphic design, social media content, and professional layout Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of experience in municipal communications or public-sector marketingProficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and CMS platforms (e.g., CivicPlus, WordPress)Portfolio showcasing design, photography, video, and digital content work
