Regional Safety Manager - Heavy Industrial Mechanical Construction - O&G, Chemical & Industrial Manufacturing - St Louis, MissouriGryphon Oakwood is currently partnered with a leading national mechanical contractor seeking an experienced Regional Safety Manager to oversee safety operations across the Midwest. This position will provide strategic leadership and operational support across major capital projects, shutdowns, turnarounds, and maintenance activities within the Oil & Gas, Chemical, and Industrial Manufacturing sectors.The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, mentoring site safety professionals, and partnering with project teams to deliver world-class safety performance. The ideal individual will possess a proven track record supporting large-scale mechanical construction projects, including piping, process systems, equipment installation, and industrial maintenance activities in high-hazard environments.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support all regional safety initiatives across California operations.Provide guidance to project management teams on safety strategy, compliance, and risk mitigation.Conduct site audits, inspections, and incident investigations.Ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and client-specific safety requirements.Develop and implement safety programs, policies, and training initiatives.Mentor and develop field safety personnel across multiple projects.Analyze safety metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Support pre-planning efforts for major turnarounds, shutdowns, and capital projects.Qualifications7+ years of construction safety leadership experience within heavy industrial environments.Strong background supporting mechanical construction projects in Oil & Gas, Chemical, Refining, Petrochemical, or Industrial Manufacturing facilities.Experience overseeing multiple projects and geographically dispersed teams.Thorough understanding of OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations.Proven experience with incident investigation, root cause analysis, and safety program development.Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.CSP, ASP, CHST, or equivalent certification preferred.If this role is of interest to you and matches your background.
