It is necessary to plan, coordinate and perform work with a high degree of independence, while keeping the Project Engineer advised of significant problem areas. Five days a week in the Ft Worth office with 30% of travel.\n\nPrimary Duties and Responsibilities\n\nPerform on-site surveys to develop “to-scale” designs and detailed reports.\n\nGenerate sketches showing relation of proposed installation in existing or new facilities with exact specifications and dimensions.\n\nParticipate in construction inspections and final inspections.\n\nConfer with engineering staff and other personnel to identify and resolve problems with the design or implementation.\n\nCoordinate design components with a multi-disciplinary as required for site-specific modifications and new construction.\n\nPrepare AutoCAD construction drawings and prepare site-specific specifications and contract documents and independent cost estimates.\n\nPerform project management related tasks and communication (including safety plans, sequence of work, cutover plans).\n\nGenerate and coordinate the Integrated Risk Management Checklists (IRMC), communication plans, project risk register, to meet Operational Risk Management (ORM) requirements.\n\nCoordinate and complete Work Permits required for potential impact to lead and asbestos that may be encountered during construction.\n\nParticipate in meetings inclusive of the pre-construction meeting and on-site construction meetings with stakeholders to coordinate with other ongoing construction and projects.\n\nPlan, schedule, and coordinate construction project activities to meet milestones and deadlines, working directly with stakeholders and contractors.\n\nManage and participate in on-site cutovers, testing and restoration of facilities.\n\nPrepare, maintain, and provide periodic updates of project to team, management, and stakeholders.\n\nPerform internal design reviews of FAA designed engineering projects.\n\nTrack and reconcile and coordinate closure of Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI) and Contractor Acceptance Inspections (CAI) on all assigned projects and provide recommended resolutions on all items related to engineering.\n\nReview project deliverables and provide verbal and written communication to the findings.\n\nBasic Qualifications\n\nMust have an Electronics or Electrical Engineering degree and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or Master’s with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience or equivalent.\n\nWorking knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Engineering Scheduling tools and applications, and be able to use the Internet as a gathering and communicating tool.\n\nProficiency with AutoCAD / MicroStation or similar tools.\n\nAbility to effectively communicate in written and verbal form.\n\nAbility to accomplish clear and concise general and technical writing and tactfully coordinate with a variety of project stake holders, peers, and management levels.\n\nAbility to maintain an electronic project folder (as required) related to site preparation and equipment installation problems.\n\nAbility to provide technical assistance and recommendations regarding the closure of construction related punch-list items.\n\nAbility to work independently in a large Engineering Organization.\n\nBasic knowledge of multiple disciplines regarding their general requirements for typical standard types of projects.\n\nAbility to discuss project related items with stakeholders, contractors, and code related Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).\n\nAbility to work in a fast-paced team environment.\n\nAbility to obtain a Public Trust Clearance and pass a drug screening.\n\nDesired Qualifications\n\nKnowledge of National Electric Code (NEC), National Fire Protection Assoc (NFPA) standards, National Airspace System Equipment Tower\n\nKnowledge of OSHA and general construction and electrical safety standards.\n\nKnowledge of NAS facilities such as ASR, ATCT, VOR, ARSR, RCAG.\n\nKnowledge of Corporate Work Plan (CWP) 4.1.12\n\nBenefits\nEmployment benefits include competitive compensation, Health and Wellness programs, Income Protection, Paid Leave and Retirement.\n\nEqual Opportunity Employer / Non-Discrimination\nAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to sex, race, ethnicity, age, national origin, citizenship, religion, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, family structure, marital status, ancestry, domestic partner status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran or military status, or any other basis prohibited by law.
