Histopathology Technician

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Histology Technician to join our dynamic laboratory team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the preparation and analysis of tissue samples for diagnostic purposes. This position requires a strong understanding of laboratory techniques, medical terminology, and pathology, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Duties Prepare and process tissue specimens for microscopic examination by performing embedding, sectioning, and staining procedures. Assist in the maintenance of laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Conduct routine quality control checks on histological preparations to ensure accuracy and reliability. Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic information. Maintain accurate records of specimen processing and results in accordance with laboratory standards. Participate in continuing education to stay current with advancements in histology techniques and practices. Skills Proficient in various laboratory techniques relevant to histology, including embedding, microtomy, and staining. Strong knowledge of physiology and medical terminology related to pathology. Familiarity with laboratory procedures and safety protocols within a hospital setting. Ability to perform phlebotomy when necessary and monitor vital signs as part of patient care processes. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with medical staff and patients.
