The person in this role will be responsible for the development of Virtualization solutions utilizing VMWare and Cloud technologies. They will research, analyze, evaluate and integrate as necessary new and emerging technologies in order to find ways to deliver a superior IT environment to the bureaus in a cost effective and secure manner. Additionally, they will support the continuing goal of incorporating these innovative technologies into the Department’s equipment modernization program. This position requires a Top Secret security clearance and that all work be performed full-time / onsite at the client facility in Springfield, VA.\n\nJob Duties:\nDesign, integrate, and deploy VMWare IT solutions\nProvide operational engineering support to enterprise-level solutions using virtual server hosting, backup solutions, off-site data replication and service level storage solutions\nProvision Virtual Machines and patches to the software and hardware hosting infrastructure\nParticipate in on-call after-hours support rotation, responding to support calls after-hours/weekends/holidays/shutdowns\nUpdate system and process documentation and user guides as needed diagrams and SOPs as needed\n\nRequired Qualifications:\nPossess an active Top Secret security clearance\nVMWare and vSphere design, integration and deployment\nKnowledge or Training on VMware and ESX 6.0+ deployment, configuration, and maintenance\nExperience leading system integration projects as the technical lead\nExperience working with customers to capture/document requirements\n\nDesired Qualifications (NOT REQUIRED):\nCloud technologies with an emphasis on Azure or Amazon Web Services\nActive Directory experience, particularly in a large environment\nStrong scripting skills\nNetApp storage administration and operation experience\nLAN/WAN networking experience\nCommVault integration and administration experience\nAbility to apply ITIL v3 Foundation concepts within the workplace\nUnderstanding of DOS processes\n\nWorking at Edgesource:\nAs an ISO 9001:2015 certified and CMMI Level 3 appraised small business, Edgesource specializes in providing a variety of technical solutions to include software development, database services, enterprise networking, data center virtualization, and management support.
