Distribution Material Handler Position Description\r\nDISTRIBUTION MATERIAL HANDLERSUMMARY:\r\nTo pull, package and load material for customer orders\r\nDISTRIBUTION MATERIAL HANDLERESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONABILITIES:\r\nPick material (by hand, forklift, or pallet jack) for orders by following picking slip provided by Distribution Office Personnel\r\nArrange material on pallets as necessary and deliver picked orders to the packaging area\r\nStrap, stretch wrap, bubble wrap or box shipment, as directed\r\nMaintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory\r\nLocates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders\r\nPrepare shipping labels and attach them to finished packages prior to shipment\r\nLoad trucks by matching bill of lading with material ready for shipping\r\nLoad material on trucks with forklift or pallet jack and complete all appropriate documentation, including pallet itemization sheets\r\nMaintain clean, organized working, warehouse, and yard areas, including trash removal, sweeping and snow removal (for East Locations).\r\nComplete daily maintenance checklist for forklift, as assigned\r\nServe as back-up for the Receiving Department - unload trucks and count stock.\r\nFollow Company policies and procedures\r\nDISTRIBUTION MATERIAL HANDLEREDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:\r\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.DISTRIBUTION MATERIAL HANDLERPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\r\nFrequently required to stand, walk, and sit\r\nFrequently lift and/or move a minimum of seventy-five pounds and a maximum of 75 poundsDISTRIBUTION MATERIAL HANDLERADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:\r\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
