Tooling Specialist

Tooling SpecialistPay: $30/hr. and up (varies on experience level)Location: Reading, PAShift: Mon-Fri (6:30am to 3pm)Description:Cannonball Recruiting is seeking a Tooling Specialist for a injection molding manufacturing facility located in Reading, PA. The position will be tooling repairs to existing and new tooling using surface grinding, milling, CNC and EDM equipment as necessary. This position will also clean and perform preventive maintenance.Requirements:Diploma from High School and/or from Vocational, or 2 year degree from a technical college.2-4 years of related experience and/or equivalent combination of education/experienceAbility to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write reports and correspondenceMathematical skills: ability to calculate figures and amounts. Experienced in geometry and tribometryAbility to use precision measuring equipment Job Duties:Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirementsMeasures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machiningSelects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as milling machines, CNC milling centers, lathes, radial drill press, surface grinders, and band sawsCalculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cutStarts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-balance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as requiredVerifies conformance of finished work piece to specificationsFits and assembles parts into complete assemblyVerifies dimensions and alignment of assemblyPolish surface tooling to required SPI and drawing specificationsAssist in mold cleaning and troubleshooting of molding issues.
