Plan, organize, and administer overall quality of product and production levels. Responsible for the evaluation and disposition of rejects and corrective actions. Perform a wide range of administrative duties, coordinate with operations and personnel to ensure efficient and profitable operations and help achieve company goals and objectives. Main responsibilities will be employee relations, quality, productivity, cost improvement and performance measurements. Plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures, recommend improvements to production methods, equipment, procedures and conditions.\n\nJOB RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nSupervise and assure that quality control measures are at an acceptable level and are consistent with company QA manual.\nEstablish and maintain product flow throughout the department in accordance with production control priorities.\nAssure overall quality of product and evaluation and disposition of rejects are in concurrence with Quality Assurance Manager and Product Mangers.\nSupervise the maintenance and replacement of all plating and cleaning solutions and equipment in the facility.\nPerform administrative functions including overall personnel policies and procedures.\nResponsible for requisitions of all supplies for the area.\nTroubleshoot problems and implement corrective actions.\nImplement quality control methods and processes to support quality planning.\nDevelop and test new methods related to Dry Film Lube and plating and also institute and maintain documentation and control systems for all plating and cleaning processes.\nEnforce safety regulations that affect the department.\nConsistently meet production standards, complete performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, establish training procedures and introduce new personnel to proper procedures and policy.\nDirect all lube, plating, cleaning, chemical lab, waste water treatment system, and heat treat personnel.\nCoordinate all waste water and treating processes and ensure we comply with all Laws and regulations, county, state and federal.\nPlan, schedule, and coordinate departmental activities to fulfill sales orders and meet inventory requirements.\nImprove working conditions (safety, quality, productivity, cost) and increase subordinates’ skills and capabilities through activity plans.\nEnsures effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development. Makes employment decisions. Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.\nBalances quality, productivity, cost, and safety to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas.\nManages departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress to manager.\nPerforms accident investigations, maintains proper inventory levels, manages department priorities, tracks absenteeism and time-keeping and is responsible for all other duties as assigned.\n\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws.\nResponsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.\nSupervises the shop floor through group leaders.\nThis role is required to be on-site 5 days at the Commerce, CA location.\nQualifications\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:\n\nBasic knowledge of acid/base chemistry and of chemical safety\nKnowledgeable in Nadcap requirements and audit preparation.\nUnderstand basic principles of electroplating\nComprehend safety data sheets and technical bulletins\nMust understand and comply with hazardous materials and hazardous waste regulations\nAbility to train and direct employees on the spill response team\nMaintain production, safety and environmental records\nProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook\n\nEXPERIENCE:\n\nRequires minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role\nRequires a minimum 5 years in a plating environment\nRequires broad technical and administrative experience in a manufacturing plating environment\nThorough knowledge of all plating methods, techniques, and related equipment.\nMust be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications\nMust be able to measure performance to goals and standards.\nMust have complete knowledge of production scheduling and shop operations.\nMust be extremely organized.\nAble to think ahead and plan over a 30-day time span, analyze problems and come up with solutions, manage inventory, pay attention to the details.\nAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.\nAbility to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.\nMust have very strong leadership skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills, including group presentations.\nAbility to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.\nThis role involves access to technical data and/or hardware subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
