As a result, the company is working to provide our differentiated, quality outcomes to as many patients that would benefit through our out-patient clinic partnerships.\r\nThe Patient Navigator manages a variety of front office functions and is key to smooth operation of a dynamic outpatient wound care center as well as performs general office duties to assist the staff of the WCC. All Healogics employees must perform their job responsibilities according to all Healogics policies, Hospital policies, as well as to accrediting organizations, federal and state regulation, and to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines, as applicable.\r\nEssential Functions/Responsibilities:Coordinates with Center leadership to maximize daily patient census.\r\nActively participates in staff meetings to support key functions within the Center.\r\nGreets patients and other visitors, answers and routes calls to appropriate staff.\r\nMaintains all patient communication needs including scheduling, rescheduling, and appointment reminders. Also works and schedules for provider, according to the care continuum model.\r\nObtains and verifies patient insurance information, to include pre-certifications and pre-authorizations for services and enters data in appropriate databases.\r\nRegisters patients into Meditech and iHeal EHRs\r\nCollects and enters patient charges in databases.\r\nVerifies and reconciles charges as directed, prepares monthly patient survey data and appropriate documentation, then transmits to providers.\r\nAssembles new patient charts, maintains and files existing patient charts, and spot checks charts for data completeness and signatures.\r\nCoordinates/schedules ancillary testing with other hospital departments.\r\nArranges for patient transportation as needed.\r\nMaintains office equipment and supplies as needed, and medical supplies as directed.\r\nPerforms other duties as required.\r\nRequired Education, Experience and Credentials:\r\nHigh School Diploma or General Education Development (GED); Associate's degree preferred\r\nMinimum of Two (2) or more years office administration experience, preferably in a medical setting; Prior medical coding experience preferred\r\nPreferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:\r\nProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)\r\nGood customer, interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and in writing\r\nOrganization and time-management skills\r\nAbility to type 60 words per minute (wpm)\r\nBasic math skills\r\nAttention to details\r\nAbility to maintain confidentiality\r\nAbility to work in fast paced environment and to work on multiple projects at the same time\r\nAbility to work with others and in a team environment\r\nPhysical Demands:\r\nBeing in a stationary position for extended periods of time (4 hours or more)\r\nViewing computer screen for extended periods of time (4 hours or more)\r\nKeying frequently on a computer for 4 hours or more\r\nReading\r\nCommunicating\r\nDetecting sounds by ear\r\nClose, distance and peripheral vision\r\nLifting/moving items up to 75 pounds with equipment assistance\r\nRepetitive motions\r\nBending/stooping\r\nWriting\r\nWork Environment:\r\nPatient care environment\r\nThe hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $20.82-$27.13 Per Hour.
