This role focuses on ensuring reliable, energy-efficient operation of BAS and HVAC controls through troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and timely service response, while working closely with project engineers, service teams and customers.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nInstall, wire and commission building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC control equipment in commercial buildings.\nProgram and configure controllers, supervisory software and field devices using industry protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus).\nTroubleshoot and repair controls, sensors, actuators, VFDs and related HVAC control components both remotely and on-site.\nPerform preventive maintenance, system testing and commissioning to ensure optimal system performance and energy efficiency.\nRespond to service calls, diagnose issues, provide timely corrective actions and document service activities.\nIntegrate BAS with third-party systems and perform software updates and backup configuration files.\nInterpret electrical schematics, control drawings and sequence of operations; maintain accurate project documentation.\nProvide technical support and training to building operators and clients on system operation and best practices.\nAdhere to safety protocols, company policies and applicable codes while working on commercial sites.\nCollaborate with electricians, HVAC technicians and project managers to complete installations and service projects on schedule.\nQualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or certification in HVAC controls, electrical or related field preferred.\n2+ years of hands-on experience with building automation systems (BAS), HVAC controls or as a service technician in commercial settings.\nExperience with commercial building automation, BAS platforms, HVAC control equipment and common protocols (BACnet, Modbus, etc.).\nStrong troubleshooting skills for controls, sensors, actuators, and VFDs; able to use multimeters, megohmmeters and diagnostic tools.\nFamiliarity with HVAC systems and sequences of operation; understanding of energy management principles.\nValid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites; willingness to be on-call for emergency service as needed.\nGood communication and customer service skills; able to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.\nPhysical ability to climb ladders, work in mechanical rooms and lift equipment; able to work safely in commercial building environments.\nRelevant certifications a plus (EPA 608, NATE, manufacturer BAS certifications, OSHA 10/30).\nAbility to read electrical schematics, control wiring diagrams and maintain accurate service records.\nFor this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
