Innovation is what we are.Position: We are looking for a Warehouse Manager for our South Chesterfield, VA location.The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading and developing warehouse operations in a project-based, Engineer-to-Order manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for safety, inventory accuracy, material flow, space utilization and process development with direct involvement on the warehouse floor. This position functions semi-autonomously and directly supervises 7 employees. This position will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.The ideal candidate has experience building or re-building warehouse processes, managing mixed inventory types (project materials, stocked parts, floor staging) and operating effectively in environments with ERP/MRP complexity, frequent changes and tight project timelines.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must satisfactorily perform each essential duty. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties.Plan and direct daily warehouse activities, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, kitting and shipping.Coordinate inbound freight scheduling and outbound shipment timelines to align with productions schedules.Monitor and adjust storage layouts and logistics solutions to meet changing production demands.Oversee the responsibility for packaging, recording, and shipping of sales orders, returns, and transfer as required, in a quality manner.Coordinate daily safety checks on forklift equipment.Coordinate international import and export shipments, including working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams to ensure accurate shipping documentation, compliance with applicable trade regulations, timely customs clearance, and alignment of inbound and outbound material flow with project and production schedules.Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts, physical inventories, and ERP/WMS reconciliation.Forecast and manage inventory levels to support manufacturing output and avoid stockouts or overstocking.Investigate and resole discrepancies to ensure data integrity.Continually inspect and maintain the physical condition of workspace along with the accountability of inventory within the area.Monitor vendor return shelf and assembly return carts to reduce the turn rate.Provides leadership, training, mentoring, and coaching to the logistics/warehouse employees.Evaluate employee performance, providing both written and verbal feedback.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities, Education & Experience)Bachelor's Degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration or related field, or a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 10 + years of relevant supervisory experience in a logistics/shipping/manufacturing environment required. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.Demonstrated ability to direct and manage resources, make decisions, solve problems, exercise good judgment and flexibility and maintain budgets and schedule.High result orientation and cost sensitivity.Highly developed customer and goal orientation.Hands on mentality, leading by example.Understanding of supply chain and inventory management/transactions required.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer applications; solid understanding of ERP and WMS systems.
