For full time employees\n\nHIRING SALARY RANGE: $30.90 - $37.08 per hour\n\nFor the most current salary schedules, please visit https://www.eagleschools.net/departments/finance/salary-schedules\n\nSUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:\nOversee and direct maintenance of District landscaping, athletic fields, driveways and parking lots and snow removal.\n\nSUPERVISED BY: Director of Facilities\n\nESSENTIAL JOB ELEMENTS:\n\nManage the turn on, balancing, and winterizing of irrigation systems\nDetermine appropriate fertilizers, soil amendments and chemicals and use appropriate safety equipment and procedures\nBe responsible for training of grounds employees in equipment use (ie: tractors, weed eaters, sprayers, heavy equipment and snow removal equipment.)\nAct in a leadership role when assigned additional personnel and/or to work with contractors.\nGive direction to up to twelve seasonal employees who operate grounds care equipment. Train the employees and plan their schedules, organize their efforts and monitor their results in order to ensure safety and efficiency, and quality of grounds appearance and condition.\nInterpret and assess blueprints and draw work sketches related to grounds care, irrigation, and drainage systems.\nEstablish a positive working relationship with the appropriate vendors necessary for the ordering of parts, materials and supplies. Specify and recommend the purchase of equipment for grounds care and snow removal.\nAssist the Director of Facilities in determining which maintenance needs and/or requests should be completed on an outside contract basis.\nAssess new and existing landscaping for the District. Advise Director of Facilities on proper landscaping needs and requirements.\nMaintain an accurate inventory of tools and equipment (in the shop and in the District vehicle) and keep tools in proper working order.\nPlan and organize jobs for each day and complete those tasks in a timely manner.\nPerform specialized and/or general maintenance tasks as assigned and be willing to assist other members of the maintenance staff when needed.\nImmediately inform the Director of Facilities of any known situation which may be hazardous to students or staff.\nRespond to emergency calls. Determine nature of problem and see that the necessary repairs are completed.\nCoordinate annual bidding of snowplow contracts.
