Job DetailsDescriptionAdministers, develops, runs tests on, implements, and maintains operating system and related software.DescriptionResponsibilitiesManage and administrate all operating systems and their corresponding or associated softwareManage communications and connection solutions, including local area networks, company Web site, intranet, and Internet applications.Manage and ensure the integrity of host computers, multiple databases and data transferDeploy and maintain firewalls, cryptography systems, and all host security activitiesOversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user desktopsInstall and configure messaging and printer systemsDistribute and supervise server storage space allotmentsDesign and implement disaster recovery plan for operating systems, databases, networks, servers, and software applications.Provide on-call technical supportAnalyze system or application usage and plan for growth or increases in network capacityAssess needs for any system reconfigurations (minor or significant) and execute them if requiredEnsure connectivity of all workstationsConduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development efforts.Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure software products and services.Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use.Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.Establish service level agreements with end usersAdminister and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rightsPerform network and security auditsPerform system backupsMonitor and test server software performance and provide statistics and reportsRecommend, schedule, and perform software improvements, upgrades, and/or purchasesManage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.Position RequirementsCollege diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 5 years equivalent work experience.Certifications in Microsoft Certified Professional and Microsoft Security PlusWorking technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systemsExtensive application support experienceWorking technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standardsStrong knowledge of local area network administrationHands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experienceExperience with data managementGood understanding of the organization’s goals and objectivesKnowledge of applicable data privacy practices and lawsStrong interpersonal and oral communication skillsAdept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manualsAbility to conduct research into software issues and products as requiredAbility to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly languageProven analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environmentStrong customer service orientationExperience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environmentWork EnvironmentMust be able to lift 50 , squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensionsOccasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but non to the point of being disagreeable. The base salary range for this position is $50,000 to $80,000.
