Element U.S. Space & Defense has an open position for an entry level Engineering Associate. Following specific Element U.S Space & Defense Standard Operating Procedures, safety policies, and industries specifications, the Associate Engineering is responsible for managing test programs consisting mainly of dynamics testing.\nRESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:\nManagement of multiple projects simultaneously\nProvide technical guidance, quoting support, and project management support\nCoordinate customer scheduling requirements with NTS department managers\nInterface between NTS technical personnel and customers\nReview/approve test data to assure adherence to customer and NTS quality requirements\nSetup and performance of Vibration, Mechanical Shock (i.e. SRS) and Acoustic tests\nMonitor tests per specifications, interact with customers if needed\nData collection utilizing vibration control systems, thermocouples, and accelerometers\nAnalysis and verification of test setups, test levels and requirements\nTroubleshooting and buildup of test fixtures, test configurations and electrical setups\nPerform other duties as assigned\nREQUIREMENTS:\nSelf-motivated, dependable, and responsible person requiring little direct supervision\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nStrong organizational, analytical, problem solving skillset\nExcellent people skills, must be strong team player and willing to adapt as necessary\nAbility to tolerate stress and work in a fast paced, dynamic environment\nAbility to multitask and complete tasks with minimal supervision\nExcellent computer skills required; knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is required\nProven ability to learn at a fast pace with minimal training\nWilling to work extended hours and weekends as necessary\nStrong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude\nMINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nBS Mechanical Engineering / Physics Degree required; MS Degree preferred\n2 years of experience operating electrodynamic vibration systems\nFamiliarity with MIL-STD810, and/or RTCA-DO160 test methodology LabView programming experience is a plus\n\nWORKING CONDITIONS\n\nGeneral office and test lab environment with exposure to sudden, loud noises\n\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
