Therapy - OT

Occupational Therapy AssistantUtilizes evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions. Provides rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of an Occupational Therapist. Administers various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan including but not limited to: ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and the use of supportive and assistive devices. Assesses patient progress and communicates with the supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatments accordingly in the clinical record per regulatory and clinical practice requirements. Reports the effectiveness of treatment outcomes to the supervising Occupational Therapist. Provides consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to cognitive and/or physical disorders. Effectively communicates with supervisors and other health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans. Provides input to supervisors for discharge summaries of services provided per regulatory and clinical requirements. Documents all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system and maintains patient records according to company policy. Accurately records treatment minutes for services provided in accordance with all regulatory and clinical requirements. Participates in required meetings including but not limited to patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings. Participates in required trainings, in-services, and conferences. Works with supervising Occupational Therapist to obtain any necessary durable medical equipment or supplies per regulatory and clinical practice requirements. Supervises and supports students under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist. Adheres to relevant practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethics during professional practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. Maintains active state licensure or registration when applicable.
