Frequent travel within this region is expected.\nA stipend for personal vehicle use or a company take-home vehicle will be provided, based on the assignment.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nMonitor and enforce quality standards and specifications.\nRead project drawings, specifications, blueprints, and work on a variety of construction projects.\nPerform construction administration and inspection services for state, county and local roadway and bridge projects and municipal utility or infrastructure projects.\nMonitor and enforce quality standards and specifications.\nInspect construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with state specifications, plans and/or proposals on roadway and bridge projects.\nVerify plan quantities and calculations are within bid plans.\nPrepare and maintain project records and reports in a timely manner.\nNotify the Contractor or the Project Engineer with status updates or about non-conforming work.\nPossibly conduct hazardous material surveys, as well as asbestos abatement monitoring services during abatement projects.\nConduct quality control testing at project sites, including concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt, aggregate and reinforcing steel.\nNotify the Project Engineer with status updates or non-conforming work.\nPerforms other duties as assigned by the Project Engineer or Project Manager.\n\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\n\nKnowledge of engineering, construction, testing and inspection principles.\nExperience with materials and lab testing.\nExperience with quality control testing and compliance specifications.\nExperience with standard testing and observation methods.\nUnderstanding of construction or engineering services.\nExperience in performing quality control initiatives and performance testing.\nSkill in lab reporting, writing reports and maintaining records.\nAbility to manage projects with little/no supervision.\nDemonstrated ability of monitoring construction and demolition environments.\nMust be able to interact well with others.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work in external environment conditions during difficult weather.\nAbility to provide status updates independently.\nBe quality-minded and client-focused.\n\n Minimum Qualifications:\n\nStrong plus if you have completed the ODOT Certified Technician program….
