Engineer","description":"Job Title:Systems Engineer\nLocation:Oakland, CA\nAccountabilities:\nDefine Concept of Operations for the project including identifying operational scenarios and use cases\nDefine System Architecture for the project (logical, functional, and physical architectures)\nLead scope/requirement discussions with technical teams and customer\nLead System Requirements effort and maintain the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)\nDecompose System Requirements to lower-level elements and work with the engineering teams to ensure proper allocation\nServe as the project’s cross-functional technical interface between product development, engineering, manufacturing, verification & validation, commissioning, and RAMS teams.\nIdentify, define, control and manage system interfaces\nAcquire deep understanding of subsystems provided by external suppliers and ensure compatibility at system level\nSupport project Engineering in all technical decisions\nActive participation in optimal overall project technical solution\nSupport Customer design review and internal design reviews\nSupport lab, factory, and field testing\nExecution of System Integration Test\nDefine impact analysis for proposed changes to the system and support System Configuration Management through the whole lifecycle\nEnsure compliance with company processes\nUnderstands and integrates applicable CMMI, CENELEC, AREMA, IEEE, IPC, etc standards.\nProvide support to Projects external stakeholders (Customers, Users, Tenders) and participate to the budget estimation.\nRequired Skills/Knowledge:\n5-10 year engineering with a minimum 5 years’ as a lead systems/design engineer.\nExperience in managing External Integration Consultant Packages\nExperience in managing external stakeholders such as Civil Partners/External Contractors/Suppliers\nExtensive understanding and/or prior experience with engineering lifecycles, delivery, and HW/SW integration lifecycle and demonstrate the ability to deliver solutions to closure\nPrior experience managing small-medium sized projects and project teams\nStrong prior experience with Microsoft Office suite, requirements management systems (e.g. Doors), product lifecycle management systems, defect tracking tools, and software configuration tools\nDemonstrated ability to lead, engage, and manage tasking of cross-functional teams of varying skills/experience\nBuilds effective relationships and has exceptional communication and leadership skills\nAbility to acquire deep understanding of new technologies with minimal guidance\nAbility to communicate complex ideas to peers, management, and customers in a simplified manner\nStrong technical troubleshooting and problem solving abilities\nStrong prior experience applying fundamental Systems Engineering concepts:\nV-lifecycle,\nSystem Architecture\nRequirements Management,\nConfiguration Management,\nInterface Management,\nDeep competency in interactions between mechanical, electrical, and software components in complex electromechanical systems\nSuccess with multi-tasking across multiple projects at given time\nDetail oriented with excellent organizational skills\nDesired Skills/Knowledge:\nPE certification in California within an Electrical Engineering discipline\nExperience with Construction / Civil Work and application standards\nPrefer Expertise in any ONE or more of the following:High Speed Railways System\nPower systems including traction power and medium to low voltage designs\nEMI / EMC system integration and validation\nTelecoms and Network designs\nAutomated control design and development systems\nConventional signaling control designs\nCBTC (Communication based train control) systems and designs\nKnowledge and/or experience working with Railway, Signaling Applications and/or ERTMS systems\nPrior experience collaborating with a diverse, cross-functional team across multiple geographic locations\nKnowledge of job-specific tools (Doors, others may apply) is an advantage\nExperience in BIM design process\nKnowledge of FRA/FTA regulations\nEducation:\nBachelor’s Degree or master’s
