Join us.\n\nThe EHS Manager will be responsible for directing the EHS program and team to ensure continuous improvement with program compliance and implementation. The EH&S Manager supports management's efforts to ensure compliance with all corporate Safety Program expectations and applicable federal & state laws. The EH&S Manager also conducts risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis) and new equipment introductions. In addition, this individual is responsible for recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomics.\n\nEssential Functions (other duties may be assigned)\n\nIdentify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly, and monthly audits\n\nParticipate and engage with all levels of the workforce to incorporate EHS into the design, set up, and operation of the facility.\n\nResearch, propose and implement improvements using Lean Manufacturing principles to improve safety, quality, and efficiency, reduce costs and meet performance goals.\n\nServe as a technical resource to operations regarding all safety and environmental affairs.\n\nDevelop and communicate safety and environmental metrics to operations.\n\nOversee environmental permitting compliance within responsible group.\n\nServe as EHS representative with all plant/managers and directors within operating group for communication of specific plant and organizational EHS issues and strategies.\n\nEnsure past corrective actions are complete and develop extensive preventative actions for incident avoidance.\n\nTrain supervision in proper incident investigative techniques and develop methodology for comprehensive corrective actions.\n\nServe as an active leader in the review of safety investigations.\n\nMay have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other safety related activities depending on the business unit and location\n\nEducation Required\n\nBachelor's degree, safety and/or environmental preferred or equivalent experience\n\nExperience Required\n\n2+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment\n\n2+ years experience leading or managing a team\n\nPreferred Experience\n\nCertifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA 1910 General Industry 10-30-hour\n\nExperience in analyzing accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns and conduct job hazard and job safety analyses\n\nExperienced in emergency response and currently holds First aid and CPR certificates\n\nExperience in Worker's Compensation case management\n\nKnowledge of:\n\nProficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and Power Point at a minimum) required to accomplish day-to-day work activities and willingness to learn additional programs.\n\nSufficient knowledge of company, products, objectives and operations.\n\nSkilled in:\n\nExceptional analytical, judgment, critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.\n\nEffective interpersonal, leadership, customer focus skills\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\n\nExcellent attention to detail, organization, and time management and prioritization skills.\n\nAbility to:\n\nAbility to communicate health and safety needs to all levels of the organization\n\nAbility to successfully balance multiple projects at various stages with limited supervision in a fast-paced, competitive environment.\n\nAbility to work independently as well as with and through others to achieved desired results.\n\nAbility to analyze and resolve difficult problems effectively and timely thru the implementation of long-term solutions.\n\nAbility to effectively negotiate and resolve conflict.\n\nAbility to foster teamwork, collaborations, inspire confidence, and motivate individuals across diverse teams in a manufacturing environment in order to meet objectives.\n\nWe thrive when the expectations are great, and the barriers are high.
