This role involves delivering critical and non-critical patient care services to all age groups using selected invasive and non-invasive techniques related to the cardiopulmonary system. Assess patients and make appropriate therapeutic recommendations. Carry out invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Maintain accurate records in patient legal records and department records. Educate patients on disease states, home care modalities, and safety. Precept students and new orientees on the roles/responsibilities of an RCP. Consult with physicians regarding cardiopulmonary status. Participate in in-services and meetings, and complete competencies. May assume charge/team leader roles and other assigned duties. Requirements of the Respiratory Therapist RRT credentials issued by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Current license to practice respiratory care issued by the state. BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association. Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy program with RRT credential. NICU experience with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
