The role is responsible for ensuring product safety, regulatory compliance (including FDA requirements), and continuous improvement across food plants. The Quality Manager will develop and enforce quality policies, oversee audits and inspections, and collaborate with production, R&D and supply chain teams to drive Lean Six Sigma improvements that reduce variation and improve yield and safety.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nLead development, implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) for all food plant operations, ensuring alignment with company policies and FDA regulations.\nOversee HACCP, GMP, SQF/FSMA or equivalent food safety programs and ensure documentation and record-keeping are accurate and audit-ready.\nPlan and manage internal and external audits, third-party certifications, and FDA inspections; respond to regulatory findings and implement corrective action plans.\nInvestigate quality incidents, customer complaints and non-conformances; lead root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).\nCollaborate with production, engineering and supply chain to integrate quality requirements into processes and new product introductions.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste, variability and cost while improving product quality and safety.\nTrain and mentor plant staff on quality systems, food safety practices and regulatory requirements; promote a culture of food safety and continuous improvement.\nMonitor and report quality metrics (e.g., OOS, yield loss, customer returns, audit scores) to senior management and recommend action plans.\nManage supplier quality, including supplier qualification, monitoring, audits and approval of corrective actions.\nEnsure proper calibration and maintenance of quality and laboratory equipment and enforce laboratory best practices and data integrity.\nQualifications\n5+ years of progressive quality management experience in food manufacturing/food plants, including hands-on experience with FDA-regulated products and inspections.\nStrong knowledge of food safety systems (HACCP), GMPs, FSMA/SQF or equivalent certification programs.\nProven experience implementing and leading Lean Six Sigma projects (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred).\nDemonstrated experience managing audits, corrective actions and regulatory compliance with measurable outcomes.\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using root cause analysis tools and quality data systems.\nStrong leadership, communication and training skills with experience influencing cross-functional teams.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and travel to plant sites as required.\nBenefits\nVacation/PTO\n\nMedical\n\nDental\n\nVision\n\n401k\n\nBonus\n\nRelocation\n\nTelecommute\n\nFor this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
