They are headquartered in Hollywood, MD, with a great team, well-established product lines, and a growing client base.\r\nThey are seeking a Software Test Engineer to work as a member of the Product Engineering Team to develop software-based product solutions.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nReviewing software requirements, design specifications, and / or concept sketches to establish baseline understanding of the development effort.\r\nMeeting with development managers to discuss software specifications and controls.\r\nUsing the software as customers would to analyze its functional properties.\r\nDesigning/Updating manual and automated test procedures to evaluate each software product.\r\nRunning test programs to ensure that testing protocols evaluate the software correctly.\r\nTweaking the software testing systems for maximum performance.\r\nFinalizing and documenting testing procedures, all technical issues discovered, along with any recommended solutions.\r\nCompleting final tests and creating test reports in a timely manner to meet desired release deadlines.\r\nPresenting test reports to management and suggesting software fixes where appropriate.\r\nSupport co-worker development efforts, and solicit assistance, when necessary or appropriate.\r\nExecute tasking in accordance with quality management system (QMS) processes and procedures; providing recommendations for continuous improvement as the opportunity arises.\r\nParticipate in relevant company and industry events.\r\nSkills\r\nIn-depth knowledge of program testing software including NUnit.\r\nExperience working with popular operating systems including Windows and Linux.\r\nStrong attention to detail, along with excellent software troubleshooting skills.\r\nAbility to collate data and compile test reports.\r\nAbility to design and write complex software testing procedures.\r\nAbility to manage responsibilities independently and work remotely.\r\nCapable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision.\r\nRelies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.\r\nExcellent listening skills as well as solid verbal and written communication skills.\r\nProficiency with Microsoft Office tools (especially Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Teams).\r\nAbility to demonstrate / present systems and software to clients.\r\nExcellent general analytical skills.\r\nDesired Experience\r\nProven work experience as a software test engineer.\r\nKnowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous integration, build processes, formal testing, and operations.\r\nJourneyman level, or greater, knowledge of applicable software testing technologies with 7 years of relevant industry experience.\r\nExperience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.\r\nExperience and proficiency with tool sets listed below.\r\nJob Location\r\nHollywood, Maryland, United States\r\nJob Type\r\nFull-Time/Regular\r\nMinimum Level of Education\r\nBachelor's degree in computer science, computer programming, or software engineering; or equivalent information technology training in a military or civilian technical school.
