The belief in sustainability within our company’s practices creates a focus on client success and partnerships that are important to our communities and our environment.\n\nA Day in the Life of a Roadway Engineer (EIT) at Hanson\n\nHere’s a snapshot of what you would do in this role:\n\nDesign and execute transportation projects for local governments and state DOTs (MoDOT, IDOT)\n\nPrepare engineering designs, construction plans, contract documents, and technical reports\n\nSupport roadway design efforts\n\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams on projects such as highways, streets, bridges, culverts, sidewalks, intersections, and more\n\nSupport projects from initial planning through design and construction\n\nPerform site visits to assess conditions and develop solutions\n\nAssist with public involvement activities, board meetings, and grant applications\n\nParticipate in construction observation and resident engineering duties\n\nSupport client relationships, including effective communication with internal and external stakeholders\n\nAssist with project proposals, and presentations\n\nPrepare computations to support completed design\n\nOther duties as assigned\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\nWe feel the following qualifications would set you up for success in this role:\n\nTechnical Skills:\n\nExperience with roadway design\n\nProficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD and roadway design software (Geopak, OpenRoads Designer, or Civil 3D)\n\nFamiliarity with MoDOT, IDOT, and other agency requirements\n\nUnderstanding of utility coordination\n\nExperience with Corridor Modeling, and Autoturn (preferred)\n\nPreparation of drawings following drafting standards to prepared easy to understand ps&e documents for bidding/construction of projects\n\nStrong oral communication and technical writing skills\n\nEducation/Experience:\n\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required)\n\nEIT license or ability to obtain within 6 months\n\nBenefits\nOur focus on people means we offer a generous benefits program to help you create a solid foundation for health and security throughout your career, including:\n\nCompetitive compensation\n\nPerformance bonuses\n\n401(k) with matching contribution\n\nEmployee Stock Ownership Plan\n\nComprehensive health & well-being plans\n\nFinancial wellness plans\n\nWork-life balance programs\n\nCulture\nWe understand that selecting a job is about more than the day-to-day tasks.
