Automotive Regional Controller

We are seeking an experienced Regional Controller to oversee financial operations and accounting leadership for approximately four dealerships in Southern California. This role partners closely with dealership leadership and corporate finance to ensure disciplined financial reporting, strong internal controls, and operational insight across the organization. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, the Regional Controller will play a key leadership role in strengthening accounting processes, supporting dealership leadership teams, and helping build scalable financial infrastructure as the company continues to grow. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment within one of the most unique luxury automotive groups in the industry. Compensation: $200,000 -$250,000/year depending on experience This position is structured with highly competitive guaranteed base compensation rather than bonus-based pay, providing predictable and market-leading earnings. Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial LeadershipOversee accounting and financial operations for approximately four luxury automotive dealerships. Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial reporting and financial statement integrity. Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with company accounting policies and procedures. Provide financial analysis, performance insights, and recommendations to dealership leadership. Operational PartnershipPartner closely with General Managers and department leaders to support operational decision making. Translate financial results into actionable insights that improve dealership performance. Participate in leadership meetings to review financial performance, operational metrics, and business trends. Accounting OversightLead month-end close processes with a target close of within five business days. Ensure balance sheet schedules are accurate, reconciled, and maintained to a high standard. Oversee reconciliation and reporting of key operational accounts including: Vehicle inventoryParts inventoryContracts in transitAccounts receivable and payableEnsure accurate deal posting and financial reporting through dealership management systems. Team LeadershipLead, mentor, and develop accounting teams across assigned dealerships. Establish consistent workflows, expectations, and communication rhythms. Provide coaching and structured performance management. Foster a collaborative, professional accounting culture across all stores. Process ImprovementImplement standardized accounting processes and reporting practices across dealerships. Identify operational or financial control issues and implement scalable solutions. Support system enhancements and workflow improvements across the accounting organization. Requirements Qualifications5+ years of Controller experience within automotive retail Multi-store dealership accounting experience strongly preferred Deep understanding of dealership financial statements and balance sheet schedules Strong leadership and team development capabilities Excellent communication skills and ability to partner with operational leaders Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Highly adaptable in a fast-paced and evolving organization Technical SkillsExperience with dealership management systems such as CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Tekion, or similar Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, and VLOOKUP Comfortable working with digital reporting tools, workflow platforms, and document management systems Salary Description$200,000 -$250,000/year depending on experience
